Fox vs sheik video discussion

well i wanted to know if my playstyle vs sheik is right so i wanted to ask all of you fox players out there for advice or any other thing that i could exploit vs sheik. basically i would bait with lasers then i would go on the offensive when they reach a certain point.

Technical and effective. you are a little too close to sheik alot of the time. like its guerrilla warfare vs this *****. i like your laser game. double laser when shes far away and single laser when she approaches. and when shes charging needles standing laser is safe. UPSMASH OUT OF SHIELD. with this you can add a secret weapon against unsuspecting sheiks

EDIT: one more thing, don't full hop nair too often. it works a few times, i mean FEW in certain situations. try turnaround in shine bairs instead of double jump nair. it changes momentum and can throw off a sheik trying to predict your aggro attack.

go for the gold a little more, youre real good at landing nairs and stuff but go for grabs for uthrow uairs and shine to up smash stuff a little more often. but i dunno, we got real different styles so what works for me might not work for you. i know i cant just do ftilts like that and get away with it

Yo bro its been a while man we need to play when your in town. Anyway you want me to grab more instead of pressure the sheild i've always thought about doing that it just never came to me bit i really should do that more your right

you have a great sheik game, shooting lasers to force her into using her terrible approach, then punish, good stuff

mostly, just grab more, it leads to some pretty garunteed and easy stuff vs sheik
you did it a fair bit but there was room for more. but i noticed the sheik was very good at SDI'ing the upair so go for more bairs in that case

learn to shorten your side B recovery at times to give you a better chance at making it back, when he knew you were going to side B, he'd go to where you would land and punish, or hit you out of it. shortening it is a good mixup.

i understand about the grab i just need to know the right situations on where to grab a shiek i only seem to grab a sheik out of shine moves thats when i find it appropriate either that or when she does a f tilt and im close enough i could drill OOS then shine grab or run then grab i have to find more appropriate timing so i can pull that grab off

i hate fox vs sheik. never got good at that matchup. my fox's style isn't really suited against sheiks

i try to up tilt against sheik a lot, it ***** sheik really hard IMO

like you say, you could go for it out of shines but i usually opt for upsmash because its less error prone (i.e. they sdi the upair), unless i want a bair->edgeguard. but thats just me.

other times you can hunt for grabs:
- sheild a dsmash? wd oos->grab. even when you're slightly slow/mess up, sheiks wll often sheild after dsmash expecting a aerial oos punish.

- when she's on the ledge shino stalling and such, wait patiently ouside of her ledgehop->fair range. she will have to commit to come outto the stage with a ledgewavedash right into your waiting arms.
sheiks also like to ledgedash->buffered roll into the stage which you can bait and punish.
those are the two near garunteed ones that i use.

Against Sheik's D-smash on block:

If all 3 hits hit your shield and they don't shield pierce you can Dair OoS to shine to grab or shield grab depending on spacing.

If 1-2 hits hit your shield and they don't pierce you can WD OoS Shine --> grab and then combo.

I watched the first 2 matches. Very good. Nicaboy really needs to stop trying to tech chase with u-smash. Just keep it simple. He also seems to have a slow reaction time.

Anyways, IMO you use d-air a little too much. A lot of those were really easy to punish had he WD backwards -> grab, or f-tilted you.
