i know this isn't really a necessary technique to learn for a falco but its pretty much the only one i cant do in succession.can someone help me with the actual mechanics for this move?

You held it too long clowsui. If you just flick the c stick back, and let go, you drop off and it does no attacks. Then just over B.

lol, I can't do it the c-stick way. I just barely tap the normal control stick back, then quickly press forward + B. I can't do it very consistently cause I've only tried it a few times, but I've gotten the stall to work before. Basically the trick is to only push the control stick to the point where you drop, then quickly press forward +B. It works best if you have b pressed down before the control stick reaches all the way to the other side.

Man, I still can't do this stall..
I tried that c-stick thing and it still didn't work.
I know it's not necessary but it looks so ill when it's done constantly
and Falco's all about that kind of stuff.. hahah

heaps cause you can still be holding forward on the control stick so all u have to do is tap b...

the phantasm stall isnt very practical. but its flashy and fun to do nonetheless. its difficulty in learning is more than its usefulness in gameplay.
the cstick is the best way to drop from the ledge without effecting ur DI.
to do the phantasm stall, u have to
1. be on the ledge
2. flick the cstick back or down
3. Side>B into the ledge
you basically have to forward>B within 1-4 frames after u drop from the ledge. it takes good timing, i hate when i miss the sweetspot by a couple millimeters

haha funny guy.i use pretty much all falcos techniques.SH pillar,double shine pillar, reverse SH lasers across map etc i aint no noob

lol zhu...every falco player should learn because all of them will ask you, and you'll be the king of that technique just like forward is with the lhdl (he was the one who discovered it, right? i remember pc saying that when he learnt falco, he emulated forward who'd already come up w/ lhdl)

It was Forward for the lhdl. This technique is really only relevant for shortening your ledge stall vulnerability a few frames. I just firebird stall, because I can do that plenty fast.

i have no clue who invented this technique but i remember when manacloud was hyping up OC3, and said something about how bombsoldier could do like "five phantasms without using a jump". so as far as i know, bombsoldier would be the first one to use it. i basically copied him and was one of the first to have it in a vid =)
