I play football for my high school team and on Tuesday we'll have played our fifth game in 12 days. I haven't had a day off from practice for three weeks. If I didn't love this sport so much I swear it would have killed me by now. Oh and I forgot to mention, we only have 16 players, most of the other teams in the league have at least 40.

Does anyone else here play football? I'd like to see how many, if any play.

We've had two games a week for the past two weeks and we had Thanksgiving (Canadian) the week before that, so there's really nothing we can do.

Also, I forgot to mention, we had to play two tie-breaker games just to make the playoffs and we just won the second one this afternoon.

I used to.

The reason I quit is because I wanted to pursue something I thought (in my opinion of course) was better, wrestling. It also starts this upcoming monday.

And I know what you're going through (minus the 16 players thing lol). The constant practices are very aggravating to say the least, but in the end the win makes it all worth it.

Is this football as in the game where you utilize your foot to kick a ball around and using your hands is forbidden or football as in the game where you mostly use your hands and arms to carry and throw something that looks like a sharpened potato?

What position did you play?

With 16 players most of us have to play both ways (haha) but we're all so used to it by now and I hardly feel it anymore.

EDIT: Not soccer.

I used to laugh at O-line (most of them are my friends but we still laugh at them) but now I can only respect them. I'm playing tight-end now as well as free safety, so I know how brutal it can be to just block over and over.

Haha. I remember when I first started playing football (even before watching it or knowing anything about it) I was like "Is this all I do all the time?"

Suffice to say I learned that it IS all I'm supposed to do lmao.

But then... wresting conditioning. oof.

Linemen get to play so dirty though, so that makes up for it.

Another thing I forgot to mention, it was raining today and there was an 8 inch deep mud puddle in the middle of the field. Best game of my life.

I played quite a few positions. At first I was a Halfback, then I moved to Defensive End. I finally ended up as a Fullback/Left Guard/Nose Tackle/Backup Punter. Oh, I was also the QB when we ran the option.

On the bright side, this should do wonders for your fitness level.

My school doesn't even have football. They refuse to get it depite a lot of protest and petitioning, because it apparently would take too many players away from the soccer team. A bunch of the guys in the school just get together and play football by themselves outside the school every day, though (Which I don't participate in).
