[Fluff] Something "Off" about Link's Face

So we all know, our beloved Link is returning to Super Smash Bros 4. in glorious HD resolution on the Wii U.
Ever since Super Smash Bros. Brawl, Link's design uses the Zelda Twilight Princess incarnation of Link. However, after looking at various images and videos of Link in the Wii U Smash, something seemed "off" about his face. Just to note, Link looks fine in the 3DS Version, but in the Wii U version he looks different. Take a look at these here images

Some things I've noticed are:

1. Link's eyebrows look noticably thinner
2. Link's hair is no longer "segmented" in the new Wii U Smash and visible strands are shown
3. Link's hair is noticeably darker
4. Link's cheeks seem chubbier
5. Link's nose seems to be pointed a bit higher ( kinda looks like Michael Jackson)

So what do you guys think? Am I going crazy or does Link also seem to look peculiar to you?

Now that we can take a closer look in the demo, I thought this would be about the 3DS version. Since there's really something off about that one.

The Wii U face is fine though, it's just different.

Yeah link looks weird asf in the Wii U version, he looks sorta Lila Joan Rivers (R.I.P.)
But he'll look fine during gameplay

As Metarai said. They're taking a bit of the Skyward Sword link but mostly Twilight princess. So hes bound to look a bit different.

It seems to be a combination of SS and TP. So that's why so many features look off. Some things just can't blend perfectly.

Surely the colors are leaning towards a Skyward Sword look, but the whole design of Link is based off Twilight Princess. Take a moment to carefully look at all the features of Twilight Princess Link and Skyward Sword Link. The Smash Bros Wii U Link clearly is the Twilight Princess Link with Skyward Sword colors. Link looks fine in the 3DS Version. The colors doesn't make Link seem off, it's his face that does.

There's absolutely no Skyward Sword influences on Sm4sh Link. I don't know why people keep saying that. If it's the colors, keep in mind the entire game has a brighter color palette.

Exactly! Everyone is saying it's a mix of Twilight Princess and Skyward Sword Link, but if people actually take the time to compare Twilight Princess Link and Skyward Sword Link, they'd see that the Wii U Smash Link is based off the Twilight Princess design.

They both have the TP version of the Hylian Shield, they both have one arm shield thingy on the left hand, they both have the same hair split (SS Link's split is the other direction), they both have the same boot design, their tunics are identical, they have the same voice... Please tell me you're joking when you say TP Link and Sm4sh Link have no influences at all.

I don't think Smash Brothers has a "timeline". Wario's still fat as ever as he always was.

Of course it has. Wario's already old and might be watching his diet, that's why he hasn't gained weight, but just look at Bowser. He has clearly been training and gone on a diet since Brawl, that's why he's leaner and faster. And Yoshi has clearly seen a chiropractor over his bad posture.

Yup, I circled that on the Twilight Princess and Skyward Sword pictures, but it didn't show on the Smash 4 so I just skipped it.

Well you see, people were saying that the reason Link looked different was because he was a mix of Skyward Sword and Twilight Princess which is not the case.

Looking at it again, it's not what I was remembering. Now I can't seem to remember what I was thinking of at the time. Huh. Maybe it was just the angle?

EDIT: It's from the results screen. Does that use the same model as the gameplay? If so, then it's definately the angle. The victory poses where he sheathes his sword? It looks like his face below his eyes is squished in a bit. Not as bad as I was remembering it, but yeah. That's what I was talking about.
