Edit: In terms of the Wii Zapper/Wii Wheel, those are just controller covers, so they don't really count.

At least the guitar has it's own buttons and a whammy bar!

Dear god, that would be a Chuck Norris level of awesome.

Would it work? It wouldn't look as cool as we may be thinking, due to the awkward position of the joystick, but with controller re-mapping apparently in, we may be able to do it.

I plan on trying at the very least. It has an analog stick, and the Wii remote inside it will have a D pad, as well as the five buttons on the neck of the guitar. Remember that the controller is completely customizable as well, so you could set up those five buttons however is most comfortable.

I really don't see how you wouldn't be able to play with it, unless it does not work at all. Will be awesome.

Well gentlemen. I play guitar hero and smash. I have a habit of doing crazy things with the guitar while I play, such as playing behind my head and spinning for example. I will incorperate my godlike abilities in smash. Such is the sole reason of my existance.

Actually I heard that the GH3 controller was a modified Classic Controller.

From the looks of it, it uses the controller expansion port to connect.

It will almost definitely work, on the XBox the GHII controller works for every game I own.

It's really sad that I didn't think of it, even though I think Open Your Heart is better. Anyway... I am hoping both songs will be there... I don't want to see just midis from the Sonic games...
