That's awesome! Keep working on that Snake! What I would suggest is to use the grenades more often. Also, more efficiently. You seemed to just chuck them without knowing what they will do. You should learn how to Shield Drop those grenades and use some techniques with them. Here's a nice little guide for tricks with the grenade. http://smashboards.com/showthread.php?t=165922
You need to learn to cook those grenades also. It takes a little while to get used too but once you get it, it's loads of fun.

Umm, you seem to be using the Front Air a lot. It really threw you off sometimes (literally :chuckle:) As you guys get more practice, the opponent will learn to dodge the front air. You will be severely punished for using it the wrong way with later on. I'm not saying it was bad, it was pretty cool how you dealt those spikes on PT. Just be a little more cautious. DI yourself towards the stage after using it if you want to keep using it. Or away from the enemy. Whichever.

If you use the shield spontaneously and shortly, you can easily turn around and attack instead of trying to turn around quickly and attacking. I had to get used to this because I kept using attacks the opposite way my opponent was.

Your edge guarding was a little too soon. It gave him a chance to think of what to do to get you off the edge. I would go on the edge before he is about to grab. That will throw him off and possibly kill him.

The placement of the mine and the c4 were oddly placed. I would place the mine near an edge and either drop a c4 somewhere or keep it just in case you get hit up or you get hit off an edge and need to use the c4 recovery. (C4 recovery is when you drop a C4 and immediately make it explode which gives you an extra chance to use UP+B)

If you have any additional questions, or if you need help with techniques, I'll be glad to help you.

Oh haha, by the way...

Welcome to SmashBoards!! :) (I just noticed the join date.) Or happy first post?!

1. Don't charge in with a Fair. Too many moves out prioritize it. It's more of a fade back move.
2. Don't rely on aerials with Snake. 90% ground, 10% air, is what I go for.
3. More Grenades.
4. Sweet Spot the edge on recovery, don't land on the stage unless you clear the area with Grenades. The Up-B is easy to gimp., and to Smash.
5. Don't constantly chase people off the stage. You're Snake, it's OKAY to do it once or twice a match, but the goal is to control the Stage with Snake, and jumping off limits your ability greatly.
6. Down Throw Tech Chasing >>>>>>> Forward Throw into nothing.
7. I think you only used the Mortar Slide twice in the match. Using it liberally, sets up the approach for other options.
8. More Mortar in general. It shuts down the aerial game of others.
9. Mix up the approach. F-tlit seems to be your main method of getting close.
10. Don't play into the strengths of the character you're fighting. Half the time against Venasaur you'd basically get right above him, where he is at his strongest.
11. More Mind games.
