Biggest disappointment is that they didn't show the Slytherin house. It could be DLC I guess, but I feel like Slytherin is far more important to Fire Emblem lore than Hufflepuff and should have been there with Gryffindor before Hufflepuff and Ravenclaw.
EDIT: Welp, this explains a lot.
In all seriousness, I agree with the character designs complaint. Felt it since the reveal trailer, but I'm not feeling the artstyle in general, either for the characters or the general detail in the environments. I already miss the map sprites from the 3DS games too. I do appreciate the leap to Renaissance era setting though.
Other than that I really have nothing to say. I was really disappointed with how little they showed considering the Direct was supposed to "focus" on this game and I barely know anymore than I did before. They didn't really show the actual map gameplay much at all, just loads of random shots of the school stuff (which is essentially just a rebranding/recontextualisation of My Castle from Fates). Still not sure on what Formations actually bring to the table. Don't know about other potentially important mechanics like Skills/Arts, etc. Nothing about any online connectivity or even amiibo.
Pretty much all I got from it is that they should have called the game "Fire Emblem: Senpai Simulator" since all they kept repeating was that "the units are your students and you help them grow".
