They're tiring and frustrating but we still gotta take 'em! Finals start next week for me, and I have to study this weekend. So I'll be out until next week Friday.

I'm doing my summatives right now. I have only one exam this semester: math.
Only 3 more weeks of school left for me! :)

Summatives: 10%
Exams: 10%
Tests,assignments,essays etc.: 70%

That's how my school does it.

Exams, **** me. I keep time-wasting with sites like this. Crimson King, or any other mod for that matter, could you temp-ban me untill June 27?

If I can't sign in next time I try to see this then I know it's done, and therefore, I thank you in advance.

Just finished my final exams last week(last year of high school).
Here in the Netherlands they do it like this:
School exams, essays, other stuff at school: 50%
Central exams, or final exams(every person on every school gets the same exam at the same time):50%

btw, my exams weren't that frustrating at all. I only had to do Math,Physics, Chemistry, Dutch and English. Over here you get to choose a 'profile' that fits you best(or which one you need for your college), and each profile has his own classes(some classes are standard in each profile, like Dutch, English and one other foreign language, French or Dutch). Anyway, since I'm pretty good at those it was kinda like vacation started already 3 weeks earlier, when the exams started(yes I had a total of 5 exams in 3 weeks time).

God I love senior year.

I hate finals! With the exception of Maths, got a 96%, kept my straight A's, and was happy!

Finals in America proves exactly what is wrong with our education system. Instead of finals as serving their purpose, which is to establish that all previous tests scores were the results of hard work and not cramming, we continuously put off studying until the last minute to cram a semesters worth of stuff, only to forget it later. Not that I plan to change my study habits, I'm just saying we suck at education.

I'm just about to take finals.

My opinion on finals is that FINALS= F*** I Never Actually Learned this S***

:D
By your opinion, you mean the one from the Facebook group started about a year ago?

Haha owned..

Am i the only one that never stresses about finals..

You want to hear whats wrong with the education system Crimson?

The fact that I got a 2300 on my SATs, Tests and Quiz averages in all classes in the 90 or above range... but because of this bull**** no child left behind act, i can't focus while we review about dumb things i already know and have a C average in school..

Hooray for independent studies next year *fist pump*

The SATs themselves are bull**** in my opinion. Rather than test your knowledge, they test your test taking skills under a time limit. I got had As in all classes my junior and senior years (save when I dipped down to avoid National Honor Society) and I only got a 23 on my ACT. While this guy I tutored who since dropped out of college and made consistently bad grades, managed to make a 26 then a 30. He was one of many cases at my school where idiots in class did better than some of the top 20 or so students in the class.

Standardized testing is another folly of our system. It is the definition of cramming for one test just to make an adequate grade, then forgetting the information later. After I got my 23 (second try) I stopped caring because I had enough from scholarships to go to school cheap. Oh well.

dainty perfect
I absolutely hate the SATs. A bunch of perfectly intelligent students at my school ended up getting 1600's (out of 2400) in those tests. I myself took it and did just fine until about half-way through the test. Then I got bored of it and ended up completely failing the second half. I know this doesn't sound like a good excuse, but I physically could not make myself concentrate due to sheer boredom. Ugh. I was in that stupid room for seven hours. That's way too long. I just didn't care any more.

Finals, heh. One of our tests is all about cramming this year. The English teacher gave us a list of authors and time periods to memorize about four days ago, and that's going to be the whole final instead of covering the stuff we've been learning the whole year.

This is why I love my uni course. No exams. Save for one exam at the beginning of this year, all of my assessment has been in essay or project form, where I actually have to make stuff or run a project or something. It makes it so much easier to learn stuff through practice instead of cramming.

SAT's are easy as crap... ETS won't give you a low score because they don't like you (Not the case in high school).

I'll be taking my first final in less than seven hours from now. At my school, we have 3 shortened school days and two finals per day.

Wednesday -- Difficult
Physical Science
Algebra I

Thursday -- Not sure
English
American Studies

Friday -- A cakewalk
No exams for German I or Band III

I managed to maintain a 4.0 all year, so my grades won't be in danger. (And much to the WWYP judges' surprise, I was accepted into Honors English) Good luck everyone! :)

jolly old england. hohoho.
hooray i finished :) exams get pretty formulaic after you've done them for enough years.

which is why i struggled on my last one. it was a ''practical'' exam where we got 5 minutes at 18 stations in a big room to do lots of random things. it was pretty hectic and stressful (i heard about 5 girls in the year cried during it!!) and i made some ridiculous mistakes, but oh well. you live, you learn.

now i just have to wait for results, which are in 5 days!! hopefully i passed :S we have to go get our results in front of everyone so it could be a bit embarrassing..

unfortunately for me, next year we get exams every 6 weeks. cramming will no longer be an option :(

Heh, all I had to take were two finals, because I had a lot of seniors in many of my classes. I was off half of tuesday, off half of thursday, and completely off on wednesday and friday. I start my full time job on the 25th.

None of your business.
Finals don't worry me that much because as long as I know the material and didn't sleep the whole year I usually do OK. Plus, my teachers usually make the finals easy.
