Can someone post a list of confirmed female characters and planned/expected ones?

Peach wasn't in the original Smash Bros. Samus was, though.

EDIT: Zelda, Peach, Nana (half of the Ice Climbers pair) and Samus/Zero Suit Samus are confirmed. Many expect the female trainer to be an alt. costume for PT. A lot of peoplle are hoping Krystal from StarFox will make it as well, hopefully with that wonderful staff of hers. As for others, find them yourself.

That doesn't matter.
Sheik's trophy in Melee referred to her as female, thus at the very least, in the Smash Bros. continuity, Sheik is female.

A kid's hand is supposed to represent Master Hand(as it is hinted in the intro cinema to Super Smash Bros. Melee).

No it actually isn't the kids hand was grabbing a mario trophy outta his drawer and threw it up and they started the seen. Master/Crazy hand are completely different.

go to WWW.SMASHBROS.COM and you'll see ALL the confirmed characters so far, including MALES, FEMALES, and ANYONE IN BETWEEN.

Search for "character select screen melee" for the entire roster for Melee.

Continuity, universe, whatever you want to call it. Regardless of the actual Legend of Zelda games, in Smash Bros., Sheik is female. The game itself specifically says so.

This is turning into the debate about Dark Samus' gender when the pirate logs in Corruption refer to Dark Samus as a "she".

I don't see what people's confusion with the matter is. It's just Zelda in disguise.


I don't see tons of people running around wondering if Kirby is a he or she and Kirby doesn't even look human! And the only person that has trouble with Yoshi's gender was Snake because his logic with eggs!

With that said... hopefully another .00001% of the population will be properly educated of Sheik's gender.
