People tell me that Final Desttination is a reat stage for the Ice Climbers, but I don't understand why. Nana is a projectile magnet, and the IC's don't traverse much horizontal ground with their jumps. The opponent can basically just camp ground-based projectiles and I can't get to him/her without Nana dying. I like the platform stages because I can navigate around projectiles and reach my opponent through platform wavelands and such.

I think it's because ICs get dominated from below when on platforms. Also, the platforms should make it easier to separate Nana from Popo.

I'm new to ICs though. This is just what people tell me.

Probably cause FD is great for things like the nanapult, Ice chasing, and chain grabbing. Its also good fun if you're very skilled in desyncing, [just watch any Chu Dat vid played on FD], because you have double the man power that your opponent has. Its very hard to keep up with two people attacking you when it's supposed to be one on one  Although yea, i understand what you're saying about platform levels. I guess the ICs are just great on any level :)

I feel the same way, and with all the IC chainthrows being very low altitude, platforms wouldnt get too in the way, personally i like battlefield with IC's...

there's no competition for IC on FD

there's no platforms for them to get ****ed up on...
IC is the most ground based character in the game, thus FD = best for IC
grabbing is easier for IC w/o any platforms, they can't run to anywhere, nothing to get in the way
there's plenty of room for IC to desync and edgeguard since the stage is so huge and the ceiling and bottom have lots of room

thus IC => FD, its also probably why whenever i suggest FD w/ IC in a tourney, ppl are like... nah, u'd have the advantage. IC are so beastly on FD

Cool, cool, very cool. So The idea is to use Nana as a shield for projectiles so you can approach them, and then land the grab, throw, chase, wait for Nana to arrive, and end the stock. I get it now, I think. Thanks.

I personally enjoy the rediculous amount of room FD allows for. It lends itself for quick WD's away from your opponent to desynch, or change up your spacing. The fact that it allows you some breathing room from your opponent is definately the best part IMO.

I think Cornera is best for IC. It has the flatness that they need but also has slopes that help from getting projectiles spamed.
the same slopes also counteract ice cube spams if your target is ontop of the hill. also it doesnt help if the arwings hit you and you get spit of from nana or it breaks a chain grab.

I prefer to use Dream Land or Yoshi's Story when I use IC's. Don't know why.

Just because there's platforms, it doesn't mean that you have to use them. Stay low on the ground. Use your uair to get them from below. Also, it's a lot better for recovering. IC's don't really have a MINDGAMES recovery--especially when you're just a Popo.

I think FD is a good stage for ICs because there's no platforms or slopes or anything that would get in the way of their ice blocks or chaingrabs. The high ceiling also allows for Popo and Nana to be hit far without dieing. Iceblocks also travel without delay on this stage, ad desyncing is at it's easiest here. Opponents can't attack you from below, and the edge has a lip on it so your attacks can reach through for some easy edgeguarding.

From what i can tell, FD is only good for IC's if their opponent has nothing to spam on them... If they do, Dream Land is a better choice, platforms to hide on/big enough to utilize iceblocks... For some reason I despise corneria, i cant seem to nanapult on the main (left side) area...
