kishprime PMed me about my grievances, lol. so it's a lot better than i thought at first glance

and i can understand the extra stages for sheer variety. 60 setups is a crapload, and if they could get near that there'd be friendlies for days

Japes is honestly not that bad for Floaties. The ceiling is just as high as dreamlands and the the river doesn't **** them that hard compared to other characters.
Level design of Japes is actually very good for Puff in a lot of ways. Making a comeback vs Puff on Japes is ****ing hard as ****

Crouching or edgestalling on the left when you're ahead by a stock is really hard to beat with a lot of characters

And 'cuz of how Puff's movement & combos work I think she beats most other floaty characters there (random bair chain at 50 near super close side blast zones? I'm now ahead? ok gg I'm gonna run away now - bye Peach!)

It's also super gay vs ICs as a ton of characters but honestly what isn't

so ban mute city, jungle japes and mk2

go sheik if they pick brinstar

stay fox if they pick anything else

im a lil disappointed corneria and kongo jungle 64 aren't allowed in singles

ICs are really weird on Japes. I think they can do okay against a lot of characters as long as they don't lose a lead, but if they're forced to approach somebody on a side platform, things can get rough. On the other hand, if the opponent needs to approach ICs near the center, then it can often be tough to approach them if they set up a tent below the center platform. It's still something I'd usually strike and frequently ban since I'm not a fan of huge variance, though. I might CP it against Luigi or something. Who knows, I'll probably just ask everybody I play if they just want to use the usual stagelist and CP/ban system instead.

The Kishes are really cool guys, I trust they will end up doing something reasonable, if maybe nonstandard.

Corneria is terrible. Japes is terrible.

Brinstar I think is has the closest thing to a "good" stage hazard as possible in the acid. You can see it coming and have plenty of time to react, that is, you rarely get 'randomly' screwed by it. It has a predictable effect if you hit it, and it changes the tactics of the match but not so much that it completely replaces fundamentals. I think the balls (or whatever they are) that you can destroy are actually a stronger argument against the stage than the acid.

Just ask everyone to use the current stagelist.

Brinstar is the only stage that should be turned back on. I have NO clue why Mushroom Kingdom 2 was turned on.

Just imagine Dr. PP vs Armada, game 5, on MK2.......

what's your opinion on the crew selection, oscar?

looks pretty good. i would prolly exclude lucky and SS just cuz they're the least likely to come, but you never know with melee lol people always show up to da big ones. but yea if we could get something similar to that top 8 it would be supreme.
