It's a joke dude. Why are these guys called "anime swordsmen" if they all come from video games and not anime, and common consensus is that real anime characters like Goku can't be in Smash?
And what's the joke? Because I don't see how calling video game characters "anime swordsmen" can be funny. It's like calling TV characters "movie stars."It's a joke dude.
On another note, the term "anime" also refers to the "anime style" artistic design of some games. And what's the joke? Because I don't see how calling video game characters "anime swordsmen" can be funny. It's like calling TV characters "movie stars."
Well, I guess Fire Emblem fits the anime style. But the definition of anime is Japanese animated shows, so video games don't qualify. Avatar: The Last Airbender had the anime style but many Avatar fans would tell you that it's not anime because it didn't originate in Japan. Yes these games with the so-called "anime swordsmen" did originate in Japan, but they came from video games, not cartoons. And Cloud's movie was 3D CGI and not 2D animation, so he definitely is not an anime swordsman. On another note, the term "anime" also refers to the "anime style" artistic design of some games.
