I'm wondering what stradegy do you use against sword users. That's who I think he has the most trouble against, since they have a longer striking range. For the Links, I try to trick them into grabbing me, but roll away, then I smash him. I generally try and avoid Roy and Marth and get better items.

Post your stradegy.

space yourself accordingly with approaching shl and rshl, and keep your distance. I usually wait until they make some error and quickly go in with a dair shine etc. My friend loves using Link's up-B, and the lag time after the attack is wonderful - so take advantage of things like that.

Dont attack them head-on Use your Technology(SHL) attack (or grab) from behing the lasers and dont approach with a dair from above(normally). And mix-up your approaches a-bit.

Specifically for Marth Beware of his fair and fsmash as they hit all around him. Fluctuate between distances with marth to avoid his sword tip, (as it is one of his cheapest aspects), and long range in general. Since Marth is a floater be careful when approaching him in the air as he may spike you.

For roy basically the same strat. but capitalize on his longer lag times, play mindgames and WD back and forth and such that you draw a smash or Laggy attack then punish him.

The two links...DO NOT Reflect their projectile attacks at close distances as you will be trapped in your own reflector for a second and a skilled Link will have your head. Avoid the up B and PRECISELY counter with a *rare* dair from above. Of course SHL when distanced and use it to close gaps. Use the RSHL to create regrouping space. dont approach head on with a SHL too often as you will be repelled by an Up-B.

Tell me if this strat. works out for you as it does for me! Good luck and happy Medievil sword-people hunting. lolz

right. First, when someone says their "tech skill" has improved - they don't mean using falco's technology (ie sp4c3 bl4st3r?!1) to its maximum capacity - they mean being consistent with their l-cancels, edgetechs and other "technical" aspects

Also - if you are fighting a marth who counters SHL with Up-B I suggest you ditch the SHL and utilize your superior Technology - your Up-B is a directional rocket, so jump outside the range of his Up-B (remember its only vertical) and FIREBIRD down at him from above. That's one firePoWN3D marth

Firebird for fighting against a Marth?

A Marth who counters SHL with Up-B?

...

Playing against a Marth is the one instance where I'd suggest playing a little more defensively. (Personally I'd still prefer to be the aggresor, but I do feel you can play defensively in this matchup and not hinder yourself) I'm not really sure how up+b counters SHL... I do know that Martch can be a pain to approach because of his superior range.

If he sits back and waits for you to approach, spam some lasers until he has to go on the offensive. Counter his attack with shffl'd d-airs and proceed as normal.

The thing about Marth is you really don't want to get grabbed, so you have to nail your l-cancels.

Once you start to combo, don't stop. He's floaty and fairly easy to kill once you get him off the stage.

I really don't think Up-B is a reason to can SHL as an approach...

lol... Forgive me.

Most posters lack any degree of intelligence, much less wit.

Kudos for getting me to bite.

Edit:

Directional rocket... lol.
