Despite the man's return, we know very little about the F-Zero content in the game.

We know Goroh will come back as an assist trophy. We'll probably have a few pilots as a trophy (hopefully all of the main 30 pilots from X will have one, even if that's being greedy I really want to see characters like Beastman or Gomar & Shioh make an appearance).

F-Zero will have stages, possibly one on both the 3DS and Wii U versions. Which ones will be picked? A track from Maximum Velocity, Climax or GP Legend for the handheld version, with a track from X/GX taking the slot for the Wii U? A second return for Big Blue like Jungle Japes?

And of course music. Why not have the songs that play on Outer Space or Aeropolis from GX with a few X favourites coming back from its appearance in Brawl?

For music, I hope "Drivin' Through on Max" is in.

Surprised it WASN'T in Brawl. My favorite track from the series.

At first glance I thought this was an F-Zero stage, but it appears to be the Pilotwings stage. The Arwing in the background confused me, but I believe using Developer tools Sakurai was able to screenshot during the entrance animations, thus getting the pic of Captain Falcon exiting his Blue Falcon and the Arwing before it drops off Fox.

An interesting stage idea could be to take inspiration from the X Cup? It generates a random track each time you play on it (of course this should be capped at something like 3-4 variations). This would change the gameplay on the stage each time you play it!

Plus it could exploit the use of tunnels, sharp turns and anti-gravity with its use in gameplay.

I can't see F-Zero getting more content to show in Smash4 than it did in Brawl.

Except if that joke Sakurai made about Captain Falcon not having any recent games meant something about a F-Zero for Wii U in all glory and awesomenes it deserves.

I'd really like a Fire Field stage for the Wii U version. There could be some really cool stuff involved with the lava and pipes around the area, plus the music on the stage is super cool.

In that case, I hope you've heard this.

F-Zero X Guitar Arrange Edition. It's an album of covers from the X sountrack, and its second track is "Drivin' Through On Max". Really, really good stuff. Played it in my car all day today to celebrate! Wouldn't mind a couple of these arrangements finding their way into the game.

I'm going to guess that we'll be getting 2 F-Zero stages, as it has been in Melee and Brawl. Big Blue will probably stage a comeback (pun intended) since Junge Japes somehow made it back again (does anybody like that stage?).
I do wonder what the new stage will be (Wii U and 3DS will probably get seperate ones), probably something from GX with the same theme as it has always been: Traveling Stage with Cars.

We should prepare for the chance that 3DS Smash will not have an F-Zero stage since stages takes up memory, so every character can't possibly have a stage on the 3DS version.

As for music: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=61_OSwh2yfE We need this track.

We'll probably get a successor to Mute City/Port Town Aero Drive. As for a returning stage, I can honestly see either of those two I just mentioned come back. Or we may get Big Blue for some diversity.

I actually was playing F-Zero GX for a good percentage of the day yesterday, and I was trying to find a stage that would work. Sand Ocean would be a good choice, and Casino Palace would be too awesome. I also thought they could do a revamped version of Big Blue, as in a brand new stage not just bring back the old Melee one, because in GX that place is just freeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeaking awesome. I imagine that the Wii U F-Zero stage will be a Mute City/Port Town Aero Drive/Rainbow Road style stage, where as the one on the 3DS might not be since Rainbow Road is already on it.

That's just not true, first of all. The 3DS game card support up to 8 gigabytes. By comparison, the GameCube optical disc supported a paltry 1.5 gigabytes. You can absolutely fit one stage for every character on the card.

I do agree that Lightning would be a great tune for the game. Would love to see it in.

Though I know there is no reason to hope or it, I would like a stage where the characters ride a board through a SNES F-Zero stage. With SNES graphics. For a long time, I have particularly enjoyed the Mode 7 effect used on the pixels for the racing game stages of 16-bit consoles. I suppose I would most prefer Sand Ocean, due to the music.

Dude, if they did a mode-7 stage, I'd love to see Red Canyon. Sand Ocean's cool and all, but the Red Canyon bass. Man.

Can't get enough.

I do totally agree that a mode-7 stage would be awesome. I always thought it was an under-appreciated technique. Affine transformations, clever stuff. They are already doing some Mode-7 throwbacks with Pilotwings, so it's not out of the question!

OK! I did not know the Pilotwings stage used Mode 7, so I now have something to search for whenever I receive the game. Thanks! But, darn. I did not realize I was playing 16-bit music until about a minute into the track! I was trying to avoid 16-bit music until I someday purchase a SNES or Genesis, heheh.

Yeah, the SNES had a really powerful sound card for the time, certainly better than the Genesis (although the Genesis sound card also had the ability to do certain things the SNES couldn't, both had distinctive sounds). Lots of great music on those consoles. I'm sure some SNES F-Zero tracks and some Genesis Sonic tracks will make it into Smash 4!

I hope so. Sadly, I have little else to provide to this thread. I barely played any F-Zero games.

8 gigabytes? Guess I was wrong then! That's great! :D

Yeah, I had to look it up, but apparently that's the case! We should be getting a pretty large Smash game on 3DS. It's not nearly as big as the 25 GB capacity of the Wii U optical disc (and that's just single layer; recall that Brawl used a dual layer DVD to increase the capacity of the disc, which might be doable with the Wii U optical disc as well), but that's pretty sizable and much, much bigger than the disc they managed to fit all of Melee onto.

With that in mind, my worries that they would have to make compromises with the Wii U version in order to get the same stage/character count on 3DS have been assuaged. I know they trimmed down the soundtrack on 3DS to keep the game's file size in check, but hopefully that just means the Wii U version has very extensive soundtrack. I've been looking forward to the upcoming OST almost as much as the game itself!

Aw man, I know Climax never left Japan but I'd love it if they got a stage from that game and used it's remix of Mute City and/or Port Town, those songs are amazing in my opinion. Also I want Captain Falcon's GX theme song in this game, I know it's covered in cheese but that why I like it.

As for stages, the only one I can think of that I think would look awesome on Wii-U is F-Zero GX's version of Fire Field.

Also I'm staying a little hopeful this time for at least one other F-Zero playable character because if Fire Emblem is getting 4 reps, I feel like F-Zero can get at least 2 especially since even Mother had two reps in Brawl.

I'd die for Aeropolis to be a stage.

Just... dat soundtrack and the motive of the stage. I'm baffled on why it wasn't in Brawl (unless it just didn't fit in Port Town: Aero Dive enough).

I want Outer Space or Fire Field as a stage on the WiiU and Illusion as a stage on 3DS. I wish we could have an item in there somewhere, but I have no ideas. Trophies would make sense for the more popular racers.
The entire F-Zero GX soundtrack, please. Pilot themes in particular. Dr. Stewart, Octoman, QQQ, Baba...and of course, the good Captain's theme.
Octoman, Spade, Dr. Stewart and Deathborn have the best themes IMO. Capt. Falcon's theme is surprisingly bad. (Not really bad, but just not something I'd listen to).

With the amount of trophies we're getting, I so want to see all of the pilots have their own trophy. Maybe asking a bit much but why not, hmmm?

I'd like to see the AX pilot racers get trophy representation. I still wish for Falcon's palette swaps show off different racers who have the smiliar same look as Kyaputen Farukon, but that's a dream.

Certain pilots like Goroh & Black Shadow got a appearance as trophies, I'm down.

The leak is 100% real so we got our F-Zero stage on the 3DS version.

Hopefully the Wii U version doesn't have a past stage returning because it would probably be Port Town Aero Dive and in that case I'd rather have Mute City return.

Yeah, I noticed the 3DS stage looked like it was based on SNES Mode 7 goodness, not unlike the Pilotwings stage. Very interesting.

Would definitely agree that I'd prefer to see Mute City to Port Town: Aero Dive. In their respective games, the latter is more fun, but I think Mute City is the better Smash stage. We'll see!

I'd like an Aeropolis stage, that's my favorite track of the game (F-Zero GX, Aeropolis, Multiplex).
I don't like too much the techno sound tracks of GX, but there are some catchy musics. Just, please, no casino palace, not the music nor the stage. Leave casino to Sonic, not F-Zero.

Another stage that I'd like to see is Lightning, but the GP-Legend version (music), and that's mostly due to the music.
look of the stage:
music:

Stages made out from classic tracks like Fire Field, Silence, White Land etc are welcome too.

Is that F-Zero 3DS stage based on Mute City from the SNES?
