Plane ticketsssssss. =D

Hmm I don't know actually, many Europeans turned down Genesis 2 because they are rather setting their sights on Apex but this doesn't look bad either. ^^

It's in summer so it's expensive.

Free housing is a plus, free housing for more than just the tournament is a huge plus (like I got during Apex).

Challenging thing is the price, the moar you make free the better.

Also free housing should be at really awesome people.

Generally you won't get a lot of Europeans.

If you want us to get to an american tourney you need to inform us way earlier.
Tickets are hella expensive right now. :/

The tournament is still over 2.5 months away, I didn't think tickets would be that high yet, sorry.

I can definitely work something out with housing and such, and doing so the week before the tournament.

If there's exams, there's nothing I can do about that lol sorry

This isn't that close to Apex, like 7 months apart or something which isn't too bad. It's a good warm up for it :)

Hm, how many people will attend this and what people will do?
Will there be housing pre and after tourney?
I have to check some schedules once again and then maybe check the prices again, but chances seem to be very little.
Next time tell me much earlier about it, cause Im also interested at attending multiple american tourneys, if the flights are like 300-400, when booked early. :)

Well, gl finding such cheap flights in June.

@Chibo 7 months apart is relatively close, you don't just go to the States at random. You can't expect people to go to both Apex and CoT. Frankly, there's almost no reason for Europeans to prefer CoT over Apex.

CoT4 had about 300 unique entrants, and was the first national. CoT5 is the sequel to said national and aims to have as many if not more entrants. CoT5 attendance is looking great and as time goes on we'll have a greater idea of it with online registration. There are already players coming from every single region in the US, and Canada is coming in full force. I don't know if I've ever seen so many Canadians plan to come to an event that wasn't hosted in Canada! All of the top players are going to make the trip, and Ontario is working on bringing their entire PR of 10 players just from their one area.

There are two main selling points to CoT5 for all of you:

1. It's Brawl only, meaning for people who are looking to come for Brawl primarily, this will not disappoint. All resources are 100% dedicated to Brawl and Brawl only. That means the most setups, meaning the most friendlies, meaning playing the most diverse and large amount of people you can find in a tournament in the US. It will be easy for the entire public and your friends back home to track your results and placement throughout the event, and any media, projectors, and focus is all on the game that you play.

2. The location is supreme. Apex is nice, but it's not located close to any key locations in the US that you might want to visit. Travel is a pain between there and the city and any key locations. Once you land in Philadelphia for CoT5 it's all taken care of for you. One simple short train and you're within walking distance of both the venue, my apartment, and Center City Philadelphia. You can check out all the historic top spots in Philadelphia like the Liberty Bell and the Art Museum (where the legendary "Rocky" steps are). Philadelphia is also a great hub for transportation being located right in the middle of Atlantic North, and a single bus for a cheap fare can take you right from within walking distance of the venue right to Washington DC, New York City, or other key locations - even Canada!

Housing can be found, it can work out, no worries about that. The main issue is flights. If you need a place to stay, I'll find you a place, don't worry about that.

Chair, stop hatin'. He's just trying to make the best out of his tourney. I'd go if more people would.

I'm answering his questions, I could be super duper positive and be fun fun fun fun fun but I'd rather be realistic.

Valid points are valid, ever since when do you guys care.

@Jumpman ever since when do you have money

Dude, talking about Apex has nothing to do with being realistic. And I always have at least a bit of money.

Apex is relatively close to NYC, how is that not a key location?
Everyone else was right, I'm basically selling my tournament, highlighting the best parts about it

But being real, Apex is 37 miles away from NY Penn Station (the main hub of transportation in NYC), which is 50 - 90 minutes driving.
CoT5 is located about .2 miles away from 30th St Station (the main hub of transportation is Philly), which is about a 10 minute walk
And from there you can get to anywhere in Philly easily, or take a bus directly to NYC, Washington DC, or many other locations.

Chibo, the effort is appreciated, but it's going to be very hard to get Europeans to fly out to the US. Most of these guys are still in school and June (or summertime in general) is as expensive as it gets, with ticket prices being upwards of 2/2.5 times as much as what you would pay in January/February. Earlier advertising would have helped, but money really is the main problem here.

I understand Europe pain for a 2 months short notice....

I mean I got the cheapest tickets to France 2 WEEKS before Bushido Impact for 447$ USD.

But let's be realistic, they should all come in big numbers for Apex.

And now you're going to tell us you didn't spend 10000 airmiles or otherwise profited from some sort of discount or relied on some luck.

We'll see about apex, dates aren't the best but I think it's doable ( and definitily want to do it after seeing the epic ruleset).
