Kevin 'PPMD' Nanney from team Evil Geniuses has been the only member of the Melee Big 5 who has not yet attended an MLG qualifier. CT EMP Armada attended Republic of Fighters this past weekend in Paris, France and will attend SKTAR 3 in New Jersey at the end of the month to obtain the necessary points to qualify. Crs Hungrybox won CEO Prologue, CT EMP Mew2King won Shuffle V and Fighters Edge and C9 Mango won WHOBO: MLG Edition.

When asked about his plans respecting MLG Anaheim, PPMD said: 'My plan is to do very well at SKTAR 3 and then move on to do my absolute best at MLG,' effectively confirming his attendance for the Tristate national. The last time PPMD was recorded during competition was at Civil War VI, where he convincingly defeated VGBC | Hax and Team APEX's Nintendude in his march to 1st place. PPMD has been in a streak since his spectacular performance at APEX 2014, where he placed first against the world's best Melee players. As the current Apex champion, all eyes are on PPMD and his performance at SKTAR3 will directly determine his qualifying status. While wining at Anaheim without qualifying for the pro bracket is certainly possible, it would be a much more difficult road - MLG anticipates 1024 players will take part in the open bracket during the weekend of June 20 to the 22nd.

About MLG: Major League Gaming is the global leader in eSports. You can find more information about them, their history and reach, here. They have history with Smash Brothers, having previously hosted events for both Melee and Brawl throughout the years. Smash Brothers was last seen at the MLG Pro Circuit in 2010, with Brawl.

About the qualifiers: The 12 players with most qualifier points at the end of the season (June 2nd) will be placed in the final pro bracket at Anaheim (allowing those players to not play through the open bracket). These points are awarded based on the player's performance in these qualifiers, for a complete tab and information about the qualifiers, click here.

About SKTAR3: Make sure to attend or tune in to SKTAR 3, an international Brawl, Project M & Melee tournament sponsored by Major League Gaming and organized by Keitaro & RJ. This tournament will be streamed on the MLG streaming platform, MLG TV. CLASH Tournaments will stream Brawl & Project M, and VGBootCamp will cover Melee.

Can you imagine if M2k took up a legit yoshi though? His tech skill plus yoshi's... "unique" options could be incredible
M2K, comparative speaking, isn't that technical. You need an insane amount of tech skill for yoshi to be viable alot of which is yoshi unique, of which M2K would never put the time into as he doesn't own a cube. He'd probably be really good at yoshi ledge options tho lol.
