I thought the praying was fine, honestly. Though I'm not incredibly picky.

I believe I read somewhere that the game was supposed to end right after the Giygas battle, where the "television" crashes. Nothing after that, just ending. I think that would be pretty cool.

Who are you to judge what I find difficult? I said it was difficult for me because I really found it hard!

So far, I think the one hard part was really just PRValley. I'm not sure how you found it easy, but it did not compliment my playstyle.

I don't think any playstyle could best that place, lol.

I think it depends on what stat gains you get from level ups earlier on. I believe they're random, but that they sort of balance out in the end, so if you get awesome level ups at first you'll be getting bad ones later on, etc. I am getting this from a small bit I read on the original Mother, so it may have changed.

What do sales have to do with it? "Cult classic" generally means it's got a really obnoxious group of fans who will take any chance to tell everyone about how whatever they like is the greatest thing in the world. I haven't heard anything like that for SotC.

Generally I've heard it used as a term for something that got good critical response but lackluster sales. But that's just me and my wikipedia reading.

That's just standard "genuinely good game that nobody bought because humanity is ****." Cult classics depend on the annoying fanbase.

Dragon Quest pwns all. :)

Earthbound was a great game that still has a place in my heart, was it the best game ever, sales would tell otherwise. But I definitely think it was one of the best RPGs for the SNES shortly behind Chrono Trigger and slightly above Super Mario RPG.

Incredible soundtrack, humorous story, crazy bad guys, colorful levels and IMO a good gameplay system. It has a good package.

i hacked my team to max level just so i could figure out the story, because the gameplay is quite boring.

You say it as if EarthBound came out just last week and everybody who loves the game is talking about it. It shouldn't be that hard to avoid EarthBound fans. Hell, I can't even find any except online. The hype about one game is annoying, but I'm sure it has died down long ago. Fans will be fans.

That must've been a lot more boring. You could have just searched the ending on YouTube if you really hated it that much.

Earthbound is pretty awesome.

I'm stuck at the 3 rock men or whatever they're called (memory fails me) in Mother 3. The winning points for the series to me is the soundtrack (Love Theme, Pollyana, Snowman, Porky Theme...etc.) and the humorous story line and characters (Mr. Saturn, Fassad...list goes on). Maybe my standards for RPGs are really low, but I find the storyline to be quite entertaining as well.

I was actually thinking a while back that Lucas was obviously added in Brawl to attempt to produce the effect Marth and Roy had in Melee, that is, curious smashers wonder who the heck it is, and somehow it ends up having Mother 3 on North American soil.

All of you seem to be confessing that Earth Bound isn't everything it's cracked up to be. Stuff like that is probably why I didn't think it a good idea to add Lucas to Brawl. Now I'm starting to question: why was Samurai Goroh an Assist Trophy summon while Lucas got in as playable?

UPDATE: I read some later posts and CRUD! I can't delete mine...

uuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuugh. This doesn't make any sense. Seriously.

I'm on chap 4 of mother 3. it's a fun rpg. one problem with it is the combat system thing where you time hits with the music? I never got that really. I guess I need a guide but I suck at it so far. only getting in like 2 - 3 hits or so.
