Edge cancelled Eggs?

doesnt mean you cant cancel them witht he ledge, if you just drop a tad bit more and angle up more then it still might be possible but with the extra air time involved it will be less effective i think

Jeez, I hope he can edge hog with his egg throws. I love doing that here and there to mess up recoveries and stratigies.

its in tha GAME!!!...because you need the up-b to grab the edge anyways...so maybe, because it depends how high yoshi's up go...

Yoshi doesn't have the djc anymore though, so does is egg cancel his jump? I heard that edge cancelled eggs are in brawl, but im wondering if instead of falling off the edge, jumping, then throwing the egg, you wil just have to fall then throw the egg because it raises you slightly. Any thoughts?

If it's still in, you don't have to jump if you do it very fast since it rises and the original edge cancel egg technique works on any frame of the egg throw animation. I asked Gimpyfish twice, but no response. I'm not sure why.

its shouldn't since you can't DJC. most likely you can't atk until the DJ animation is done.

I'm wondering if it's just standard ariels that can't cancel yoshi's jump. Maybe b moves can? We need some confirmation on this. Anyone go to e for all?

I believe auto sweet spotting has been confirmed. At least thats how it works with link's up-b, if you're near the ledge in mid animation it will automatically grab the ledge and cancel the rest of the jump.

are you seriuos? That is lame. It takes away strategy and ledgehop anything.. unless there is another way to aerial from the edge.

I asked Gimpyfish if edge cancelling eggs was possible in Brawl twice and there has been no response.
I hope he awnsers soon.

Well I've heard that you can't press down from the ledge, but the better way to do this techinque anyway is to press away from the edge to the side so you dont fast fall.

But with the boost in the air now (I have no clue what it looks like, or how significant it is) the boost might make falling back down to the ledge slower

The boost acts like Mario's cape. There is a thread that contains a video, showing someone using the technique (unfortunately, he wasn't using it for recovery methods, which we all want to see exactly how it works).

I think we're gonna have to wait until we get it in our own hands, or at least until the Japanese release, to see how well it aids his recovery.

I think you're right, as I have not seen anyone using the technique for recovery. It does look like Mario's cape, with just a tad more height distance.

Yeah. I remember in Melee, the egg throw would actually slow your horizontal movement, so if it really has to help you with recovery, they should get that part out of the move, or at least not slow him down as much as it did in Melee.

It does stop momentum, just like the cape still. I actually like this, as it would not be helpful to be throwing eggs while flying away from the stage. lol

Yeah that may be true, but I would still like it if you just kept moving in whatever horizontal way you were moving when you used it.
