[07.09.01]

Came back from a tourny yesterday in which I placed 3rd. I had the most RIDICULOUS set of matches against a Falco I used to have alot of trouble with. Probably the most exciting matches I've ever played in my life. I ended up losing in a bo5, 3-2. But every match was down to the last stock. The set went Raynex (R01, R04 wins), TGBX (R02, R03, R05 wins).

Please post your opinions or anything you'd like to say. Feedback would be awesome. Enjoy.

Winners Bracket: Grand Finals

Yea, i did. In the hopes of people not just watching and actually posting something.

It seems that reading&contributing is out of the question for a lot of you here. Lol, if i had the secret to garnering advice for a fox-in-training...man i'd be king of the world.

Just one comment for now. Don't stay your shield after Sheik aerials you, since with proper l-cancelling a jab/ftilt/utilt can come out before you can dair/shine/grab. It's better to just run backwards, then do a drillshine, etc. Also, it's quite possible to smash DI out of uairs. I'm not saying this just because I saw your opponent do so, but I've done it on multiple occasions myself (just wiggle left/right during the uair to smash DI out of the 2nd hit). So at higher percentages it's probably better to go with a bair/usmash kill, since those are more guaranteed.

More to come tomorrow.

Nice Fox, though, there's not really anything major to comment on.

He lives in Quebec :(

There aren't any recorded matches of us playing from the TransCanada tournament. Though I've watched many of his vs. pkmvodka and bam and other elite Frenchies on youtube and the sort.

Nice matches bro! I can tell you have more confidence against fighting Falcos then before! In fact, I have learned a few new things from your vids, so I am greatful to yah. I watched all of your fights too, very nice! I really enjoyed watching you fight that Marth...saw allot of tricks. You have a splendid Fox, it would something if we could play one another. I have family in Toronto so that isn't too far from where I am. ^^;

May I also add yah as a friend on youtube?

Laterz.

It all started from when u did that roll, and noah F-smashed u because of it. After that, while u were getting pillared, u should've DI'd on the ledge. And last, u held ur shield too long at the end, u should've just grabbed him.

All that is easier said than done. Still u did really good man + falco is gay lol

it was too high. You mean the single ledge just floating there? I would've got baired as I got up, thus losing the match anyway. Its too easy to edge-guard on Mute. :S

naw man. (it's a platform my bad) u were @ like 45%. A bair wouldn'tve sent u that far. + at least the combo would've ended right? Ending sooner is better than larer

You and those recoveries..... Your are lucky TGBX kept screwing up on punishing you... lol But they have gotten better.... and I noticed how good you were a waveshining but didn't see any thunder's combos....

i know. I usually thunders him alot but...in that set it was weird. Our edge-guarding was bad...no grab comboing on my part. And for some reason I couldn't thunders him at all. He kept doing rising attacks on me and I couldn't hit him with the uair.

the matches vs. puff were the only ones that were evn a tad shaky...i think.

They were all either recorded onto a laptop via some program or from a vcr.

more drill grabs and cg against falco. I saw thunderz =p noiiice.
I appreciate the advice. Its the one thing people keep drilling into my head on the boards. "Grab combo Falco." Hearing it once more doesn't hurt any. Thanks again.

Man, you're good. Sorry, no tips from me.....not enough experience when it comes to fighting an opponent (this includes noobs as well) other than a training mode cpu. Now tech skill though, I have a fairly decent amount of that -- at least mediocre.

I watched two vids, but I saw no Thunder's Combo, well, just once. Ok, fine, that was one tip, which has already been said like a million times. lol If you see an eerily similar message on Youtube in your first vid, that wouldn't be me. :p

Oh trust me. My entire game was focused towards drilling into a thunders. It was that focus that made me lose. No grab comboing, mediocre waveshining and the like. I should've just relaxed. I can thunders easily, but when its a big tournament and 2nd or potentially 1st is on the line... :/

ty for droppin' a line tho.

My opponents know its coming, and therefore D.i the uair so they fly behind me. In that situation you might have to turn around or walk a bit to get the usmash, but its still probably your best option. You can usmash again to numerous uairs. Or you can grab after the first usmash and chain-throw a bit/combo.
You could also try to utilt if they're a bit above 30% and you want to grab combo. Usmash might send them too high at that percentage for grab ****.

I think you should try not to get as stuck in your shield as you did vs Jarc, even though you won the match he ran into alot of your shield stuff. Full jump bairs work really good against jiggs.

Ty man. I'll try to implement that. I don't really know what to do against jiggly. For me its like..random lasers...uthrow uair when applicable..and spam usmash. lol

ty again though.

Yeah lol FJ bairs are really good on jiggs because you aren't forced to land in your lag (or in fox's case lack thereof lol), they have good reach and great priority and pretty good power. Fox's full jump is higher than jiggs so you can kind of land on her or poke her out or whatever. Bair is really ridiculous. You kind of looked like you were trying to do random stuff on the jiggs tho lol, but you shouldnt stay in your shield that much vs jiggs, just jump around and ****.

the only set combos i have in my head for that matchup is

a: nair -> usmash

b: uthrow -> uair

c: drill+grab.

Yet no matter how much i know, it never leaks into my game when its actually go time. :(
