Yep, he has some deadly fast smash attacks with high priority and good range. He even deals high amounts of damage. During my first tournament with him I got fourth with like 30 people there and everytime I played there was a crowd behind me discussing how broken he is.
I'm sorry, did you say his smash attacks have high priority?

Sorry, I'm not hip to the smash terms, so I don't actually know hit priorities well. I meant purely that he is hard to punish when he attacks because he not extending his own hitbox to hit other players, whereas most characters do this (as in, lack a weapon). My wording was poor. This is because I almost never play anymore unless there is a tournament at an anime convention nearby. That is why I note Olimar as being an easy character in terms of results, because I can use him and play on the level of people who get together and play more and possess more knowledge, whereas I never touch it and don't study it.

Although, that ultimately was the reason why I didn't get first place in that tourny, I ended up playing later and finding out many things I could have used against certain characters that would have probably turned the tides in my favor.

I would not say hes easy, if your friend just started playing would you honestly recommend Olimar? You need to pay attention to your pikmin line up, having good di (always di to the top left or top right) learning how to recover, timing whistle armor (not as hard as that other stuff) and spacing.

Month old thread, but...

Easy is a loaded question. As above, implementing a character's various unique techs can change up who you would say is easy to use or not. Applying all over their various tools is also another level of difficulty.

I would say that characters that involve a few good moves for nearly all situations are the easiest to pick-up. King Dedede, Meta Knight, Ike, and Snake all come to mind.

King Dedede can pretty much do everything in the air with Bair. Do all his spacing with Ftilt and waddle dees, and use throws as his punishes.

Meta Knight's Dtilt and SH Fair is difficult to get around.

Ike will be using Jab for a bulk of his ground attacks and Fair for his aerial spacing.

Snake can dash around the stage power shielding projectiles, running away or walking away from attacks and punish missed attacks with his range on Ftilt/Utilt/Dash attack. Grabs supplement his ground game. Once you start trying to implement nade usage and fancy set-ups it escalates quickly is difficulty.

If you refuse to put tap jump off, you have to learn to have a soft touch in your moving the control stick up. Or do some action, then hold up during it.

Yeah, but don't worry, it will take no time at all to learn how to do that.

Also, beautiful avatar by the way. *_*

Depends on what your playing if it's one on one I'd say someone like kirby or meta knight. If your going to be playing free for all then someone that can hit hard such as Ike or dedede.

I'm talking more so about a character that is easier to pick up and play, not the easiest one to master.

Easiest to master I'd say Kirby would win that, sense he's so linear. Same with King DeeDeeDee given if you follow a damn flow chart you basically are a professional.

But easiest to bring to a tournament and not ****ing fail reallly.

My first Brawl tournament had maybe 10 Kirbys from people who don't play too much, so I think you have a point there.

I'd have to echo Kirby as well; very straight forward character, all of his moves work as they would appear at face value. Olimar, Dedede etc. are a different kind of "easy", since they involve some advanced techniques and such but rely on just a few good tools to be fairly effective, such as Dedede's chain grab.
