Which characters do you guys think are the easiest to learn to play as at a high level? The most difficult to learn?

One thing to consider is that although characters like Falco, Fox, and Falcon can be difficult from a technical point of view, but because they are similar to their Melee selves, they may be easier to learn just from all of the video material that you have access to.

For my part, I think two of the easier characters to learn are probably Wario and Mario, they seem to have fairly intuitive movement and combo setups.

Lucario seems pretty difficult to learn, but it could just be me.

I think Sheik is the easiest character to pick up and start doing well with. You just need to keep in mind a few basic things and you can really go far.

The hardest / most un-intuitive characters for me are Lucario, Wario, and Ness/Lucas. Lucario because of the on-hit-combo thing, Wario because all his moves act differently than I think they're going to, and Ness/Lucas because of DJC shenanigans.

I find that Fox, and Captain Falcon are the hardest characters to master.

The easiest are Charizard, Ike, and Bowser. All you have to do is SMASH without hesitation and you will win.

I think the majority of characters are easy to pick up in this game.

what?
Captain Falcon can only be as hard as learning the moveset, really, all of his attacks are really intuitive and self explanatory, and it's pretty damn simple about mechanics
If you're struggling against opponets that only SMASH without hesitation, you better revise your gameplay
IMO the hardest characters are ZSS and Jiggs

Ike is by far one of the most difficult characters to play well. His upkeep for technical skill rivals the spacies.

I think for the most part you can get by and win with Ike if you have good general smash knowledge and good reactions.

You can probably very well play a strong Ike without a huge technical skill threshold. His movement is mostly intuitive and his "buttons" are good + he's got absurd damage. He's one of the easier characters, but his high-end is also really strong.

I think TL is really hard to do well with on a high level basis.

Pikachu is the hardest, I've devoted my time to mastering this character. I want everyone to think he's broken.

Princess Azula would be the best smash character.

Depends on what you mean by hard. In terms of pure apm, lucas is the hardest by a long shot, but you could argue a character like diddy is hard because he relies on complicated banana setups and has a pretty tight combo game, as well as having very few ways to reliably kill

I find I press more buttons with Pika than with Lucas (or any other character), and not simply for the sake that he functionally can, but he has to if he wants to function, and the precision behind the actions is by far and away more essential to function properly in comparison to all other high-action characters.
Pika, in Melee and PM to this day, I consider the most difficult character to play at a high and top level. Completely do-able, but tedious and obnoxiously straining. The effort/accuracy/apm/hits/evasion > reward with him is severely disproportionate to basically everyone else in the game.
