Easier way to land Dsmash

ROB's love Dsmashes, but it's also fairly easy to just avoid it since it's a straight forward move. If you Fastfall an airdodge you can have a safe descent into a lagless Dsmash. So say you're in the air and you just Fair'd or something and they're on the ground or whatever, just fastfall airdodge and you land without any lag, and the opponent has 4 frames to respond. On paper, it's rather avoidable, but it's not something that's really expected. It's more of a mindgame, but hey, it works.

Don't forget the ol' Side-step to D-Smash technique.
Gets them every time.

Except for that. That's easy to tell when it's coming and it's a nice change.

...Really? <.<

I figured everyone already used Air Dodge > DSmash...? It's basically an aerial version of Spot Dodge > DSmash. Definitely not worth a thread. o.o

or dSmash out of sheild
but how is that going to help you in the air?

the point of this is to get ROB down to the ground safely and attack. ROB's hate getting juggled in the air right? This could be helpful since fastfalling airdodges gets you to the ground very quickly and allows you to buffer any attack. Dsmash isn't the only option, it's just what was first recommended since it's fast and does good damage.

dsmash OoS is good, yes, but I think the OP is just trying to find applications for fastfall airdodging and getting back the ground safely to avoid juggling.

well, maybe not worth a whole thread...but it's stilll something people should look more into. most ROBs still can't seem to get over getting juggled easily so...this is a good way to discuss different options to get back on the stage in a safe way, and get on the offensive.

FAir > Fall behind with AD > DSmash was a staple approach/get up-from ledge for me like...6 months ago. AD > DSmash starts to work about as well as SD > DSmash does after people realize what you're doing and just punish it as if it were the same thing because well...it is as far as punishment goes. lol

If they SDI out, ROB can usually get a Jab/DTilt/FSmash off before they can shield/retaliate so long as they pop out to the front. ;]

DSmash is only laggy and punishable if we actually hit something the entire time...or we whiff entirely. :[

Your wrong, you can hit him during his dsmash easily.

AD -> dsmash is good, but you gotta make them fear/expect and approaching aerial before it becomes effective... if it's what you generally do, and your opponent falls for it more than once, they aren't playing very well...

while it's a good option, it's definitely a "mindgames" option
