You have to convert the .vob file to .avi or something similar to get them onto Youtube.

The quality is really good though lol.

For converting, I suggest AutoGK. For splitting the videos, I use SolveigMM Avi Trimmer. To rip the .vob off the DVD, you'll need a computer drive that supports DVD reading and a program like all in one DVD ripper.

Everything I mentioned is freeware btw. Also DVD recorders have *some* lag so that can be a problem. Especially for Melee (for Barlw it's like "**** mistimed Dancing Blade too early" >_>). Plus they're kinda big to carry about, usually very pricey (150+, although I got mine for $100).

Get a Dazzle I guess. I heard it works better/more convenient to upload vids and carry around. Quality seems to not be the greatest but that's manageable considering you're uploading this to Youtube, not Veoh or NicoNico.

Hopefully I was of some help.

VietGeek thank you for the valueable info. considering I just but a dvd recorder yesterday!!! Thanks!!!

My dvd recorder is a "Life's Good" product and cost me $250. Do you think my recorder will have no lag when it records? I had a dazzle and it lagged bad so I upgraded, and since we had to play on the computer; not my idea.

Thanks Viet, that was really useful.

So I got a dvd recorder, and ofc it lags so I need to buy some splitters. Now this is a really nub question so bear with me. Are there different splitters needed for audio/video output? This is an audio splitter, will it not split video properly, or is this marketing gibberish?

no there are no different type of splitters for audio video.

They are called RCA "Y" adapters'. You will need 3 of them; 2 female ends and 1 male end.

PS:I returned my dvd recorder; I decided I spent to much on it and would rather get a Dazzle Platinum.
