So after a fair while of brawl ive made the transition from a cstick spamming melee nub into properly using tilts at every opportunity. its taken months but i now use ftilt and even utilt a lot in my games. but i cant for the life of me find a use for dtilt. ftilt and utilt are like subconscious now, i dont even think before i do them but i have to actively remind myself that dtilt is a move before i use it.

Is this a move i should focus on getting in my game... as i see it, ftilt is better (more damage, same frame start up) but the dtilt has less ending lag and puts you closer to the enemy to follow up... do the pros outweigh the cons for this move?

D-tilt's trajectory/push is its use.

Tipper D-tilt can be enough to push for a grab>d-throw at certain %'s (like when it puts someone in 'ouch stun'), and "middle" D-tilt sets up for an aerial.

Yea dtilt is good the upwards hit stun can to a stutter step or just a normal fsmash. And can get ur opponet of ledges.

It's situational, but not quite as situational as u-tilt (which I fucking hate). It's a nice spacer to use on someone that is shielding. Because after they shield the first hit you can immediately grab them because of the closed distance. That is of course assuming they do not power shield you.

Don't forget the IASA frames on it. Dtilt -> Ftilt is a fast, easy combo with low risk and good payoff.

I'm just your problem~
Dtilt -> SH Fair
Dtilt -> Ftilt
Dtilt -> Utilt
Dtilt -> Jab -> Grab
Dtilt -> Dtilt -> Jab -> Grab
Dtilt -> Dtilt -> Jab -> Dtilt -> etc.

yeah it helped me to hit pikachu out of his d-smash and on certain characters you could spam the d-tilt to rack up some damage early in the fight. i still find u-tilt much harder to land >_<

I find d-tilt more useful than u-tilt, which I barely use. Also good for kicking them of the ledge.

Given how difficult it is to land the u-tilt I wish it was a stronger kill move.

Dtilt>>Ftilt when facing spacies. It traps them for a bit and lets you do anything to them.
Dtilt~Dtilt~Dthrow~hypen smash!

Its fun.

Ftilt is overall better, but the D tilt is useful for setting up SH aerials or for setting up for a grab.

The Utilt is the worst ****ing move Sonic has IMO.
No range on it. I suppose its good for whenever you clash but otherwise I might as well Usmash.

lol U-tilters in this thread.

If I do a U-tilt, it's usually done out of a finished D-air, or OOS (ASC cancel usually).

But I use it the most frequently out of a cancelled U-air (first hit>land>U-tilt)

Yes it does mostly ur opponet DI's outward so this second kick of uair wont get them unless they have high % they DI right into the utilt.

Me personally I dont use utilt unless I do a uthrow and they have like 12%. So it has to be my frist string of hits for the match.

But dtilt I use quite abit. Gotta love when ur opponet trips ;D

utilt to me is horrible.
Its so hard to hit with I'd rather just short hop and uair or usmash. But ehh I still use utilt at times.

utilt isnt that bad... almost 3 times faster start-up than usmash and 14 damage is a lot for a tilt

I kno its not bad, its horrible IMO..., ._. it has such a small hit box upsmash has a bigger hit box and it sorta eats shields.

Browny, it's still hella difficult to land and 14 may not be "bad" but it isn't good either. And given how weak Sonic is overall it really doesn't add much to his game.
