Somehow, I'm not sure 512 MB would cut it for a demo of this caliber.

but a pig in the sun
its possible. if I can download 5 entire N64 games and have space left for my saves, I'm sure my SD card can handle a brawl demo, albiet, most likely toned down in content from the summit demo.

What about releasing a demo disk? Problem solved! Wasn't there a rumor that a Brawl demo disk is in the next Nintendo Power?

True, and Nintendo would sell millions of that issue...

I guess not everyone can download stuff from the internet, so I guess that is problem solved, but how would they distribute this? Would they actually sell it in stores or just with special offers?

It would be really cool if they released a demo with mario galaxy or nintendo power Nov./Dec. edition ect. That would tide me over until Feb 10th for sure.

No NP said they'd get a hands on. Not a CD included. Though that WOULD get them SO much more subscribers.

I hope the do release the demo on the Shop Channel or in NP.

If they release a demo on the Wii shop channel they'd have to require the use of an SD card that can hold at least a gig. It's more likely that they'd distribute a disk via retail outlets and/or Nintendo Power magazine. Another possibility is the option to purchase it on Nintendo's website for a small fee.

Who knows, maybe the December NP will contain a Demo rather than release, considdering the Game's release date was Dec. 3rd, maybe they meant a Demo, which would be great if it was the same as the Demo that Reviewing websites got their hands on.

You know idk if it's a good or bad thing, but the game demo would prbly sell just as many copies of a demo as the actual game. Therefore, they could completely overcharge for it for the benefits.

It's a shame they won't be able to release Brawl now on the 6 year anniversary. Perhaps, they should release a demo disc of whatever was being played by IGN and by everyone later on this month. That would be really nice... I think it would make the wait a lot easier for the actual game. They don't have to worry about people settling for just the demo. I agree that it should be thrown in some nintendo wii game. Whatever game it comes with, that would be a gurantee sell.

Yep. They could even sell Brawl for $100 dollars and they'd make more money.

Oh my lord, those dudes have so much power...

A demo would do nothing but good for their business, but a demo coming with NP would be ideal.

In your head.
If they released a demo disk, that would relieve some tensions on the delay issue. Seems like a viable marketing strategy.

among the figments of your imagination
I would think a demo of that kind of quality could only be sold in disc form through a retailer, possibly packaged with another game. (Mario Galaxy or the sort) it will also be in various retailers in kiosks for sure. as for Nintendo Power, the most likely scenario is that the demo will not be packaged with the issue, but rather, the subscriber receives a special offer to purchase a demo disc. not exactly packaged with the magazine, but close enough.

*subscribes to NP* If there's a possibility of being able to have the Brawl demo, I'll do it.

Programs and executables (like playable demos/videos) have to be played from the Wii's internal flash memory. They can't be played directly from SD cards. I'd bet that the demo that we've seen in videos is over 512 MB. Now, a demo disc would be excellent, of course.

They should just release a demo disk like they did for Soul Caliber 2 when it was really hyped up. I payed $20 (maybe it was $15 not sure) for a demo disk of soul caliber 2 and a couple other games that I had absolutely no interest in. The Demo had 2 playable characters and I think 1 stage. Worth it? Completely. If Nintendo sold the game "As Is" in a demo disk form for $10 they would make so much money. Would anyone here honestly not pay $10 for a chance to play the demo?

Hey I have an idea. Somebody come with me to e for all and we'll bring guns and some coffee cake and steal one of the demos. Car chase scene guaranteed also. Then we can leak it online for everyone to download, or keep it for ourselves.
