Ok, so over on the general boards, I asked Hitaku if he could confirm that Lucas's down tilt trips opponents occasionally. Not only did he confirm it, but he ran a bunch of tests and got the general % that the tripping will occur!

For starters, the more you spam thus move, the higher the chances the opponent will trip. At 0% your opponent trips about 11% of the time, but here's the interesting part: the higher your opponent's damage, the more they'll trip from repeated dtilts. Hitaku got the target to trip about once for every four kicks when they were at 100%

Dtilt spam trip to side/down smash, anyone?

Or Up Smash, since it does tend to "suck" opponents in from the side. ;) Down Smash would probably be your best bet in that case, though, simply because the opponent will be right there on the ground--just in case they're too small to get hit with the branch / Up Smash.

Upsmash may not be fast enough, and I'm pretty sure that the branch can even hit opponents who are down on the ground. Downsmash doesn't have as much KO power, but yeah, it'd probably be the safest one to use.

Dude, this is an amazing find. I'm totally gonna' use it.

I haven't seen much tripping but do you think there would be enough time to use PK Freeze? Because I'd actually like to use that move once in a while.
