Does her down and b air jump have a hit component?

I'm sorry, I know this is a stupid, noobish question. I just seemed to get the impression from reading here that her extra down + B jump has some sort of hit to it.. is this true? If so, in what portion of the animation does it actually hit? I haven't tried it for this purpose since I didn't think it worked that way, but it would be quite interesting if it does hit.

Her down-B is just a special jump, you can choose to make it left or right.

It DOES have an attack, but only when / if you choose to use it by hitting A. You can also choose to make the attack left or right. I think if you experiment with this briefly you'll quickly understand - post in the stickied FAQ otherwise.
