New doubles set... some interesting moments in it. Y.b.m. doesn't DI cause he's a beast and doesn't need to. Kinda hurts us in doubles, though. :(

close game I bet Overswarm would be one tough guy to fight and its not like Tlink is easier. Very nice Edge hog on the first stock.

Thanks. I actually beat Quivo about as often as he beats me. I wish I could say the same about Overswarm... hopefully that will change soon. :)

The TL was half-decent, but I think you should've beat him. You fell for way too many easy things, and the final kill he had was pretty much obvious. Then again, I am a TL player myself, and it may just be my nature to expect it. either way, you were predictable. The Up-B stuff you do doesn't work on a TL. He is just too fast for any kind of those mindgames. I say stick to your spacing and get him at a good oppurtunity, like after he gets rid of a bomb and he's in the air still. Dash attack and he'll be in a great spot for ****.

ok so i watched you vs Rob on bf and sv.

heres what i noticed

you never use tilts against him.
never used Angl Ring, i know this is good against rob but just dont over use it.
You are predictable just as much as he is predicatable. Everytime he throws his top he shoots a laser. just hold your shield out longer.
you dont play agressive when you need too.

when i watch you play it seems as if you have no confidence. heh ionno its jsut a feeling.
hes not better than you despite what you mite think.

maybe you will win at your smashfest tomarrow.

I'll see what I can do at the fest tomorrow. Hopefully we'll have more videos.

Edit: No new videos. OS didn't show this week. : (

Everytime he throws his top he shoots a laser. just hold your shield out longer.
He does that because if you shield the top, the laser will poke through even if you keep the shield up. He also tends to place the top so that if you spot-dodge, it'll land right inside you and you'll get hit when you come out. I still haven't figured out what to do about it besides reflect it or jump over it... Rolling away usually results in getting hit by a laser. :(

Hey Melon, where are you from? I'll MM you against any of your characters.

And the bomb drop to uair usually gets many opponents... no one ever really expects it and if they do, they fall for it pretty easily.

Dropping a bomb has no lag and literally all of his aerials will beat a dash attack. Plus, I don't see how dash-attacking him puts him in a "great spot for ****" seeing as I'd probably lag long enough for him to come out of hitstun and smack me or just get away unscathed depending on his damage. The only useful thing this could really accomplish aside from the dash attack's damage is maybe kill him if he's at like... 150 or something.

I appreciate constructive criticism, to be sure, but I'd prefer the constructive bits to actually be constructive and the criticism bits to be a little more insightful than "You were predictable." I'll take money matches from anybody offline, generally, so if you think you've got something to prove then prove it. Otherwise keep it to yourself. Thank you.

Fine Doctor X I will money match you in a Pit ditto, that is if I come on tuesday.

As for improvement, I would say improve spacing on you wingdashing and also start looping some arrows, I saw you do it like twice. All your Mindgames are belong to me.

Sure, I wanted to rematch that anyways but seeing as the tournament never finished we didn't get the chance. I need to work on my Pit dittos.

Or... I could go Metaknight cause you roll a lot. That's usually my solution in tournament matches cause I suck at punishing rolls with Pit. :p

Good advice, though arrow looping in particular I tend to disagree on. I usually would rather not tie my control stick up in stuff like that when there are so many other things I could be doing...

I can fire and direct like 4 arrows in the time it takes one arrow to loop around. 4 arrows are far more difficult to evade than one, even if that one loops. The first of those 4 arrows will also strike the target soon enough to interrupt their approach or recovery. 4 arrows to an enemy off the edge will kill many characters guaranteed, especially if followed with a shield shine, edgehog, or a bair to their recovery, all of which are nearly impossible to direct if you're worrying about bringing another small bit of damage around in a circle. Why anybody would want this damage when they could just kill the guy is beyond me.

Try dealing with people who don't let up when you're looping that crap around... People who have better and more powerful projectiles like Rob's Laser or Gyro... or nearly unstoppable approaches like MK's tornado or G&W's bair. Hell, even Ike forward B-ing up and just jabbing you. Hitting him with an arrow for a pittance of percents should not be a priority in this situation. Getting the hell out of the way should be paramount.

Very rarely will you get the opportunity to do this against players like Quivo, OS, or Kel, and even when you do, they do not fall for it seeing as it's something you can literally see coming almost two full seconds before it comes. I honestly only do it against them in friendlies and even then it rarely ever works.

Well Doctor X, my playstyle changes with who I am fighting, against another pit I like to roll because his dsmash is so slow, and even if you turn around and fsmash you can usually SDI out of it after the first hit. Against a Meta I don't roll nearly as much, and anyways 90% of the time I would go Fox in that case, I Think I two stocked Wade's Meta but I am not sure or it was a JV two stock.

Also I agree on your points about the arrows 100%, in those cases I would rapid fire. I usually use them to kill, as in you just run away real quick loop the arrow and as it is coming around they will have to react.
1. If the are in the air they will have to air dodge it, therefore you can bair after they come out of it
2. If they are in the air and they get hit by it, then during the hit stun you can bair.
3. If the are on the ground they can shield, spotdodge, roll, get hit. If they shield then you can grab and and then go into rapid fire after an fthorw. If they spot dodge or get hit, then you can fsmash for the kill. If they roll behind you, you can also fsmash them. if they roll away then you can possibly fsmash or RAR a bair, anyway if you pull it off they are dead.

But yea originally I said pit ditto if you went meta then I would go fox, that is why I have two mains, so I can anti-counter you.

Well, it's good to know that only you are allowed to counterpick in a money match, and it would never happen the other way around. :dizzy:

Either way, Pit ditto, or no character restrictions, whatever. Come to my fest and we'll do it. :)

Ok Kown! Let's do it. When are you free?

I know I'm like 20 minutes out from Sugarland and off a road called Richmond Avenue. I heard about the gamestop tournys, but supposedly they have small turnouts (and maybe melee) and I figured it wouldn't be worthwhile with gas prices being so high.

I'm trying to get some Houston guys together to hopefully come over to my parents place for a small smashfest.

I need to play you again Dr. X. I've been working a lot on my Lucas since we played last. Pit's a pain to fight with Lucas and I want to see what I can do now. Great matches by the way. OS is hard.

Yea, I mean.. i could come to your place or something if you didn't care (i don't know houston well though). Or we'd have to find a neutral area for both of us to safely go to lol. I'm only here until next sunday.

Nice keep up the good work

Some advice:
Grab more-I dont think I saw a grab in the snake matches.
Ftilt- I hardly saw this move used against the snake also. It has great range to shield poke while keeping you relatively safe.
Ditilt- I would suggest using this move more. It is fast and a good combo starter. When you sense a snakedash coming, get ready with the dtilt. If not, then you dont get punished for crouching. You can wingdash back to provoke a snakedash then do a quick dtilt. Dtilt has the range of snakes Ftilt.

Once you get a good hit on snake, stay close and good spacing so you can continue the combos. I saw some nice combos in the first match then you backed off and used arrows.

MK
Never tempt MK at the ledge. Quickly and safely get back on the stage. When returning I feel that an Uair at the tips works well to stop the MK from trying to intercept you.

When you see the shuttle loop, shield grab. works every time

When you see the tornado, a good thing to do is WoI from the ground. This allows you to quickly get above him (weak spot) and do a Dair. Experiment with that.

In general it seems like you are too focused on your plans instead of reacting to your opponent. Try to do things that makes it appear you have made a mistake to force a mistake then capitalize on it.

Nice wingdashing and mindgames. Love it. Just be careful where you use it!

Very great matches. Even the matches you lost, you seemed to hold your own and keep cool to the end.

You've got skill. Keep it up.

these videos make u look bad...... hmm u roll a fair amount. ionno gotta work on mindgames i suppose.
Getting DSF down to 1 stock = looking bad? :ohwell:

BTW rolling is good. Rolling as an approach = bad.

Thanks for the advice, though, everyone.
