Smash 3DS Do You Use The 3D When Playing?

The new 3ds makes it enjoyable, but I only occasionally do it for sm4sh.

I barely ever use 3D in general cause it starts giving me a headache after a while. Plus it runs the battery down a lot faster

I leave it off , 3D tends to obscure things a bit and is also a major power-eater. I generally leave it off unless it seriously imrpoves the game graphics; I don't really feel a difference with sm4sh on the 3ds XL though.

I own a 2DS, main reason I got Sm4sh, but I considered the 3DS for the 3D until my friends told me about it, with the sweet spot and the headaches. I've seen a movie on a 3DTV once and my head was spinning the day after and I had problems with my eyes for an hour after the movie ended. I seriously doubt I could hold the 3DS after one match with the 3D on. I'm not sure about the New 3DS XL though. The 3D is improved, but that might mean a longer headache for those who can't stand the 3D.

Only game I ever have it off is Cave Story because of the shear mashing required for boss fights, and when doing boring RPGy stuff like weapon management in KIU. Only time it's off in Smash is Pictochat on the OG 3DS because the background is kinda funky.

I like it on because it keeps my bad eye focused. It kinda just drifts away when playing in 2D.

I usually have the 3D off. When it's on, it's always near minimum, 'cause anywhere higher and it looks awful.

Maybe the New 3DS really does do the 3D better, but I'm not getting one.

I might try it out on the New 3DS. I barely used the 3D on the 3DS. I only turn it on for a second to see how it looks on a brand new game I bought for my 3DS but i usually turn it off afterwards because it's bleh.

The only time I ever used the 3D mode on Smash is whenever I have paused the game and am trying to take a screenshot with better angles. However, other than that, no, I hardly ever use the 3D feature in gameplay.

I typically keep 3D off when I'm playing Sm4sh, but otherwise I'm fine with everything else being in 3D.

If the older versions of the 3DS models didn't have such a picky sweet spot I would have the 3D on for smash frequently (I find the 3D effect amazing honestly).

But because of my tendency to move the handheld while playing a lot, the 3D just interrupts my play and view so I leave it off for smash.

On more relaxing games I have the 3D on since I won't be moving the 3DS as much.

When I had the older 3DS I refused to ever turn on the 3D simply because it was an eyesore. Now that I have the new 3DS I do find that the 3D is marginally better, but out of habit I don't turn it on.

I use the 3D a lot more since I got the New 3DS, but I have to turn outline on for the characters, or everything looks slightly weird. Like, the edges are almost pixellated

On my 3DS XL... I tend not to like it. It just feels odd to me, I just prefer 2D for a game played on 2 dimensions.

For some reason, turning the 3D off disorients me. It becomes pretty hard for me to distinguish backround from foreground and it just all blends together. That said, I still can play with it off, just I absolutely prefer keeping it on.

I personally don't use it, I find it distracting. I haven't tried it with my New 3ds, though.
