Do any of you have this particular problem I have with Ivysaur?

Maybe not 2-3 seconds, but yes, it continues for awhile. It's just finishing the animation. Not much you can do about it, really.

If it starts to do the fast jabbing... let go of A and hold shield. The shield will come out as soon as it is able. That is the best advice to offer.. i have been caught by this same thing.

I have a problem with that too. I pretty much never use the jab unless it's an accident because of it...the forward tilt seems way better in pretty much every situation. The most important thing is to not try to attack again until it stops. If you stop hitting A and then use the C-stick to try and do a smash attack as soon as possible, it won't work and will just extend the duration of the jab even more.

Neutral A can be used when they are off stage, just hold A simliar to squirtles jab, or charizard's D-tilt.
