DK + Falcon Questions

DK - Is it true that G&W is a DK counter? My friend, a DK user, thinks so - G&W is hard to grab, hard to combo, DK gets comboed by G&W easily, and gets intercepted by NAir just as easily. G&W, on the other hand, suffers from horrible weight, horrible shield, and horribly predictable recovery (albeit one with high priority). To prove his point, we played a G&W vs. DK match and I managed to 2-stock him. However, we only did one, so it could've been that he was unfamiliar with the match up. Anyways, is this true?

Capt. Falcon - Can you give me some advice as to how to deal with Falcon? I got 3-stocked by my friend >.>.

I know that I was playing WAY too aggressively and that I shouldn't have been fooling around at the edge on the first stock. I also know that I need more tilts. Is there anything else that I should do?

IMO, GnW isn't a DK counter at all. GnW isn't all that hard to grab with DK, and once he does grab, he can easily do the same old uthrow-uair combo he does on everyone else. I'd say it's pretty even.

Agree with JWT2k6, if anything DK has a better chance to win than G&W does. Spam bairs against G&W's puny shield, charge Punch whenever you have a chance. Occasional grab to combo.

As for Falcon. I can only give generic advice since you don't explain or have videos of why he beats you. Your shield just sucks a lot in this matchup against Falcon's strong aerials. It might be able to help if you can remember to lightshield if you don't think your regular shield can take the hit. Just try to space fairs and uptilt if he tries to shffl into you or land on top of you a lot.

You can't really CC a lot of Falcon's aerials so don't try to cc dtilt although still use it when you shield pressure occassionally. And really learn to **** his recovery off the stage. You can pretty much do anything when he has to upB to recover and that's probably the only time you have an advantage over him.

CF can down throw chain grab you so DI away. Don't miss any techs or else he'll probably knee you on the ground. **** his recovery as arc said. A combination of down-tilts and fsmashes work well.

Phanna's match-up chart says that it's 5-4 G&W, so I guess it's pretty even but slightly in G&W's favor.

There's a YouTube link up there, but I appreciate your advice. Is it possible to chainthrow Falcon with UTilt and then follow it up with an UTilt juggle into a NAir?

For G&W versus CF you have to read when your opponent is going to attack you. Your F-air out prioritizes all of C-falcons air moves. If you can tell when he is going to attack you just F-air at the same time and follow up on the teach chase.
