Welcome to the 1st official Support Thread of Reiji and Xiaomu!!!
Wait, What? Who are them? Where are they from?
Reiji and Xiaomu are the main characters from the CROSS Series, also known as Namco X Capcom or Project X Zone, a crossover tactical role-playing game developed by Banpresto and Monolith Soft, featuring characters from Bandai Namco, CAPCOM and SEGA (since the 2nd installment, Project X Zone). The narrative sees Reiji Arisu and Xiaomu, operatives for paranormal investigative group Shinra, confront distortions bringing characters from other realities into their own, opposed by Ouma, a group dedicated to causing chaos, with their main rival being Ouma operative Saya.
W-What!? That game is really a THING???
Yes, yes it is, just take a look at this:
As you can see, it's a reality. The Series has had 3 Games in total, most of them being on Nintendo Consoles, the 1st one being Namco X Capcom for Playstation 2, and the 2nd and 3rd ones being Project X Zone 1 and 2 for 3DS. Though they've also appeared on Super Robot Wars OG Saga: Endless Frontier and Super Robot Wars OG Saga Endless Frontier EXCEED for the DS.
The games reception has been really positive through the years, and they have sold well in each installment.
Ok, i get it, it sounds awesome but why they should be in Smash??? What they could bring with them???
They could bring interesting concepts and abilities to Smash, and make a good pick for the Next Fighter Pass. To begin with, there is a mechanic in the series where each unit is made up of two characters, one of them being Reiji and Xiamu of course, so they could be represented like that, with the CROSS mechanic where you can paralize the enemy, and moveset-wise...
Reiji is a practitioner of "Gogyo Sword Drawing," which involves the rapid drawing and then sheathing again of his swords, he fights using the flaming Japanese sword "Karin," the lightning-calling sword "Chirai," the ice blade "Sorin," a shotgun called "Hollywood" and a magnum called "Gold," meanwhile Xiaomu uses a swordstick called "Suiren" and two pistols called "Silver" and "Platinum," she also uses various mystical arts, talismans, divination (Since she is a "Sage Fox," a type of vulpine monster) and even professional wrestling. You can see a lot of moveset potential with this, and here's an idea of it (made originally by meleebrawler ):
Also they could give more representation to Bandai Namco in Smash, since their series is features a lot of content from other Bamco franchises that they could apply in Smash without legal issues, and despite the colaboration between Bamco and Nintendo in Super Smash Bros for Wii U and Ultimate we only have PAC-MAN....
And the Music of the Series, meanwhile most of them are remixes of themes of other games the original ones are really on fire, specially the Opening themes like "Brave New World", "All the Worlds Stage"or "Wing Wanderer", just listen:
Some time ago, i made a "What-if" Challenger Pack of the Fighter Pass for Reiji and Xiaomu, so please, take a look:
You could say this series are very niche, specially considering that Namco X Capcom never came out of Japan, but as Sakurai said "It's more important that a character is fun to play as in Smash than being recognizable, and to show its legacy's appeal through that fun gameplay."
Thanks for reading everyone!!!

Reiji takes point while Xiaomu acts as an assist for Specials and Smash Attacks. She can be hit to interrupt those moves and even get KO'ed through damage if it happens too much, only coming back after a stock is lost. Whenever Reiji and Xiaomu hit an enemy at the same time, a Cross Hit occurs, locking the enemy in place for more combos for a limited time. And if they're hit with enough knockback in this state, you trigger a Cross Break that amplifies the knockback and damage of the hit.
Jab: A punch and kick followed by a series of quick slashes from Chirai.
FTilt: Two slashes, one from Sorin followed by Karin.
UTilt: A diagonal shot from Hollywood.
DTilt: A low slash from Sorin that can freeze.
FSmash: Reiji slashes the enemy with a quick combination of Karin and Sorin multiple times.
USmash: Three quick slashes of Chirai overhead.
DSmash: An unusually long attack where Reiji and Xiaomu unloads their guns in multiple directions.
Nair: Swings the carrying case around.
Fair: Fires Gold forward a few times, with some recoil. Alternatively he performs a kick.
Bair: A powerful but somewhat slow swing of Karin backwards.
Uair: Juggles the enemy with Gold shots.
Dair: Drills downward with Sorin. Alternatively, slams Karin down to earth with an explosion like Sanger's attack in Project X Zone.
Neutral Special: Xiaomu shoots a short wave of water forward quickly. Alternatively she fires a wave of beams from her finger.
Side Special: With tilt input, Xiaomu leaps towards the enemy with her rear, doing good shield damage. With smash input, she tries to grab the enemy for a suplex, jumping back with another rear-end attack if she misses after a delay.
Up Special: Xiaomu creates a tower of ice that can pin enemies in place, before she surfs forward on a wave, dragging enemies along. If Reiji isn't occupied with an attack, he'll stand on top of the tower, and can choose to jump off of it or ride the following wave with Xiaomu.
Down Special: Tornado Kata, where Xiaomu spins like a top while firing her guns. Alternatively she just drop some bombs of a short range.
*The Specials can be used to summon her even if Reiji is performing another attack, to provide cover or pressure. Only limitations are being in hitstun and that Xiaomu has to finish one of her moves before being summoned for another.
Final Smash: In this case they will execute 2 different Final Smashes, depending if they trap one or multiple enemies with a Magic Seal. The 1st Final Smash is called "Shinra Bansho: Ultimate", where they attack a single enemy with a combination of various Weapons and Magic, ending with a final blow.
The 2nd Final Smash is called "Mystic Fox Neutralize Technique: Fox Lord Seal" where they hit 2 or more enemies, and Xiaomu steals the spotlight dealing different cuts to the enemies, meanwhile her cosplays differently with each cut, and finally break the seal as she wears a wedding dress.
0:57 1st Final Smash "Shinra Bansho: Ultimate" / 1:15 2nd Final Smash "Mystic Fox Neutralize Technique: Fox Lord Seal"
The 1st one deals more damage, meanwhile the 2nd one gives the same amount of damage for each enemy.
