If you played games at last year's best buy convention things, then you would know there were many differences in the demo and the full game, plus Sakurai stated that the new Mushroom Kingdom U stage will be able to be played on the demo, meaning that no all the stages will be playable, so I wonder, what will the differences be? I wonder is the design of the character select screen will be different, I guess we will just have to see!

inb4 all advanced techniques discovered are removed! :p

Nah, but I expect some balance changes and possible mechanic changes. Maybe some slight changes to menu aesthetics. The menus themselves will definitely be different as they will be built to be restrictive for demoing purposes as opposed to having all available options in the real thing. I also expect subtle graphical improvements in the actual fights. In example, the new Mario Bros U stage looks kind of rushed. You have a water spout going through the stage and there are no nice lighting effects or even shadows on the characters.

If I recall, the Brawl demo game play was a bit faster...just a bit compared to full release Brawl.

I expect some minor game play/mechanic changes from the Demo to the full release.

If i remember the full specifics, it was slightly faster, you could L cancel and I believe the combo bug that plagued the final brawl wasn't there at the time.

However, the time frame between that demo and Brawl and this demo and Sm4sh is a lot shorter, so I imagine any mechanics and system gameplay is set in stone (outside of this being a significantly older build but I doubt that) and the characters will be more or less final, outside minor balancing tweaks. Its also possible the CSS and SSS will be laid out differently, but considering Brawls was the same, I'd imagine the layout here will be identical as well (and if so, could provide much insight on roster and stage numbers)

Except it's not shorter.

That Brawl demo is from October 2007 (it was right after Sonic was announced), which was only 3 months before the game came out in Japan.

The E3/BestBuy demo is for the Wii U. Wii U version won't be out for almost half a year. There's so much time for changing/fixing/tweaking.

There will probably be a lot of changes, in fact, maybe that's the secret purpose of the invitational in the first place (maybe not). To find out what players think they should change.

The 3DS one is probably set in stone by now (or close enough), but the Wii U one is far from it.

Huh, didn't realize the JP release was so close to the demo. Well even still, I can't imagine any character or item in both versions would be different at all, I'm sure they're balanced the same.
