Could you please reply with a video or a set that you think shows the best way to play brawl? One that lesser players could analyze and watch over and over to see what it means to play perfectly.
I hear regular people say "play defensive", and I hear high level people say that you have to play aggressive at high levels of play,( even tho that person seems to play campier than a samus). And M2K said that only metaknight can play aggressive. I saw Vinnie's matches against Seibrik and I seriously don't understand how he did so well while playing aggressive as freak! I'm good at brawl, and i beat other people that are good at brawl, but then there are those who are on a higher level of play than me. I play good people that i know i can beat, and i don't mind losing the lead, or letting them take a game, cuz i know i can win the set if i have to, and i do. I feel like these higher level players have the same feeling towards me. Specifically i'm speaking of Ryo(ike player) who makes me feel like the match up is 39 61. Masky( who about makes me think we can't turtle meta's shield without getting shuttle looped.) Yele (Red Halberd's brother, who makes me think Snake can just keep pulling out grenades and win.). And Dewdadash to lesser degree( aka doodoo trash, who amaze's me every time his DDD's bair beats out any of our areals.
It seems that Masky and Doo doo trash, can just wait for me to approach and punish me for it. It seems like Ryo can do that and go aggressive as **** on me as well. When i ask for help, Ryo just tells me to mix it up which doesn't really help and Masky tells me i'm dumb and has too strong of opinions for me. I'm prescribed adderall and when i take it for a class and then play my friends afterwards, and i can play more patiently/smart, bait more, but i'm still not on their level.
I see that it is way better to not try and land an attack everytime the opponent is near, and to wait/camp/not approach and let them approach sometimes(which usually bores the crap out of me and makes me hate brawl) and maybe i just need more patience.
I understand brawl, but at the same time, i don't, and i don't get what it takes to play at the highest level. I want to try and figure it out by watching videos but i don't want to watch the wrong ones. Please, be Blunt, If you think that what UTD Zac or Vinnie said is wrong(as long as your in the top 5%), be polite, but say it. Get it clarified. We're a pretty dang loving community and we can handle some mature debate.
