So recently I did really well at a regional tournament in my state. so everyone in my state knows me now calling me "the peoples champ" "savior" and "best Mario in the state"

II'm getting a lot of attention now and people are expecting a lot out of me.
so i'm starting to get really nervous hoping I don't disappoint them at my next tournament.

This is just a lot I haven't dealt with before and wanted some thoughts from people who have experienced this before.

Remind people that you are just a human being and there are others out there who might be better than you at your current state. Let them know that while you appreciate their praise, your concern of letting them down may actually hinder your performance. Tell them that you're happy to have fans, but ask that they don't be disappointed or upset with you if you lose. You're not perfect, you just enjoy playing.
