anyway, with reguards to the original poster, yeah I think that's why they left the character's name as the generic "pokemon trainer," i think that Sakurai will release in a future update that female trainer is an alt, it seems like the most logical choice beheind the naming decision.

As for the subject;
She could very easily be an alternative costume. I mean, why not? Pokémon Battle Revolution has high quality 3d models. Since this character isn't a fighter per-se and doesn't have a real name, I'm all for making a few of the costumes into the female character model.

Well I think in the games that they're supposed to represent older children (possibly 15?). I'm mean how would a 10 year be mature enough for a quest like that

I think the greatest thing with costume changes is what it could mean to other characters like Mario (to Dr. Mario) etc.

I think it would actually be pretty cool to have the girl trainer as an alt costume, as there was never any hard and fast rule that alt costumes in Brawl had to be just a simple recolor. Nothing said it couldn't represent a whole different person (who just happens to have the same abilities.)

Well maybe I'm just being too optimistic that it's blinding me. I think pokemon change should be an attack so the pokes don't become easy bait to opponents. I mean unlike sheik or Zelda, poke change is needed to keep the pokes alive (thanks stamina )

I liked my Squirtle...to me though, warturtle was just a mid step to get to the almighty Blastoise, my favourite pokemon...

gath I like Wartortle too, but squirtle just has more of a fan base. I believe Sakursi wanted to represent all three forms of the pokes (which would explain ivysaur instead of bulbasaur). I like squirtle better too. why don't they have more squirtle avatars? (he's in brawl)

Edit: Onyx we can only guess the other specials but i would say

Ivysaur: Leech seed

Squirtle:bubble

Charizard:Fly

that's only my opinion though.

Charizard has Flamethrower because thats like the original and maybe most well rounded fire attack. Powerful yet has a lot of PP to be used quite a bit.

And anyone can do flamethrower with the spicy curry too!

My guess is the Pokémon will trade off weakness for flexibility. Charizard's fire breath could be more like than not be weaker than Bowser's Fire Breathe.

And I think the fire breathing is just the curry's initial animation. The last screenshot makes it look like it adds fire to any physical attack.

^^I would have even been satisfied if they made Charizard's Fire Power "Blue" like Dragon Rage. Atleast it would have been a different color of pyrotechinics instead of the same old lame "orange yellowish" firepower. So irritating....

Well it still is just "FlameThrower" and they just used the pretty much same animation of the Pokeball.

Not like they would make the B move the most powerful thing in the world you know.

but yeah he had to do flamethrower as a memorandum of Charizards old pokeball attack. Flamethrower+dash dance= awesome

4: This character brings the possibility of many odd projectile moves like bubble and water gun. He also could have a neat up special if Sakurai gets invenive.

this move really seems to look like Bowser's flamethrower, I wonder if it's gonna be the same in terms of damaging, but Squirtl's moves really looks awesome, and I'm guessing Ivysaur will have Solarbeam, but also am wondering, will each of them have their own Final Smash or wil they act as one to do a "Tri Final"

It doesn't seem that anyone has thought of the possibility of the final smash being a 4th pokemon...
Much like giga bowser, the trainers final smash could be say bringing mewtwo back, or someone else, that you could use until they ran out of stamina and had to switch out again, where you would go back to wherever you were on the chain already
