Do you use Mortar Slide only, or Dash Attack, too? Oo
I played a Snake, who failed Snakedash sometimes and hit me with it.
And it seemed to be very good.
And Snakedash is weaker, if you hit at the wrong time.

I mostly use Mortar Slide.
But sometimes I do Mortar Slide against the opponent, then Dash Attack against him, often it hits him and he flys in the direction of the upsmash of the Mortar Slide before.

Just because you can mortar slide doesn't mean you have to forget about his dash attack, they have 2 different functions and you need to use them to suit these functions

I use regular Dash Attack when they're at higher percents. At lower percents I use Mortar slide though, but I'll still use regular Dash Attack for mindgames. Like Black_Heretic said, we haven't forgot about his Dash Attack. =/

They have different uses. I actually use DA more than DAC because I have a playstyle based on spacing, punishing, and camping if I can with that character.
DAC is better for retreating, because it travels more distance and it gives you a mortar defense.

I like using Dash as I see it one of my better options. Its very versatile and you can totally still Mortarside after using the Dash attack since the Slide is very easy to use and theres a large window of opportunity to use it. Plus the dash makes approaching easy in some ways. I find it invaluable against people that abuse projectiles like some Zelda that like to use Din's Fire. I can dash and still not get hit if I collide with it. Just an overall great move. Rarely I will screw up and just use dash instead of the slide and it works out still. Its funny.

I don't do either much seeing as I'm almost always walking. I Mortar Slide to get to the edge faster/harass offstage opponents, mostly. If they're that high of damage and I can't land a utilt (Which is improbable seeing as it hits like halfway across FD) I'll probably DA and then tilt when I'm behind them, since they usually drop their shield, or I'll drop a nade if they wanna attack into me.

I almost never dash, it's only when I need to get to the edge.
I do DA and DAC from a walk. My playstyle revolves around nades, ftilt, explosives, and jabs. So yea, I'm a prefectionist about spacing.

Edit: That's why I play Snake and am learning Zamus.

I actually forced myself to learn the timing of doing his dash attack that near the end cancels into Usmash; gives me a dash attack hitbox, the Mortar stand hitbox, and then the Mortar. Epic win getting all 3 of them to hit. :)

I think that having a dash attack hitbox to partially cover you before you slide with Usmash is great, I rarely do a proper Mortar Slide because it actually seems worse to me in most aspects.

I prefer mortar sliding simply because if I get shield grabbed, there's a mortar coming down on their head while they're holding me :) Works great against IC's.

Haha, they are indeed win. I wanted one with both C + H, but they were all too small so you couldn't really make them out while in the avatar picture.
