.:Darknut:.
{Twilight Princess Version}

Games: Darknuts are in the following games:
  • The Legend of Zelda
  • The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker
  • The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Seasons
  • The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Ages
  • The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap
  • The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess

Character Discription: This is a character in the Legend of Zelda series. He is in several of the games but the version of Darknut that i am talking about is the one from Twilight Princess. He is a minor boss in the game and there are actually more that one Darknut. They are tall and strong enemies that wear layers of heavy armor and weild a giant sword. They also have a smaller sword that they use when they are out of their strong armor. Darknuts are usually found guarding something very important in the game such as a new weapon or a final boss door. Darknut's are very strong and usually take a few minutes for Link to beat.

Possible Moves:
And now, I present to this Darknut topic...FrozenRoy's Darknut Moveset!

Darknut:

SPECIAL MOVES:

Nuetral B: Whirlwind Slashes: Darknut slashes in a fury in front of him, his strikes are so powerful you cannot DI them. Ends with a large vertical slice which is the only hit which does actual knockback. Getting hit with all the slices should do about 25%, this move has high ending lag and fairly large start-up lag.

Side B: Darknut Beam: Darknut slices horizontally, sending out a beam(think like Kirby's Final Cutter for the beam). The slash itself has average knockback with little damage, while the beam is damaging with small knockback. The beam also has nice hitstun.

Up B: Helicopter Sword: Darknut raises his sword up then twirls it around like a helicopter blade, carrying him up as he goes. 7 Hits total, about as much vertical distance as Fox's Fire Fox. It also has the horizantal distance of Falco's Falcon Phantasm. However, it is slow and easy to predict.

Down B: Shield: Darknut extends his shield, after extension you can aim it up as well. Any attacks from the front/top do no damage and only about 10% damage. This move comes out fairly fast, but has high end lag.

GROUND MOVES:

A: Stab: Stabs foward. Think like Ganondorf's Jab for strength, but with taking longer to get out(not too much, though).

Foward Tilt: Vertical Slash: A strong vertical slash, it does slightly-higher-then-average for a tilt knockback and damage, but also has slightly higher then average lag.

Up Tilt: Darknut Uppercut: An upward slash, think of it as a more powerful Roy up-tilt.

Down Tilt: Dark Swipe: Darknut quickly does a slash while squatting(Think like Link or Y. Link), however this sends the foe STRAIGHT foward(No ups, downs or opposite directions).

Foward Smash: Darknut Destroyer: A VERY strong vertical smash, this move has the power of a tippered Marth Foward smash...EVERYWHERE ON THE SWORD! However, Darknut has his sword stuck in the ground after this attack(Think NON L-Cancelled Link's Dair lag)

Up Smash: Shield Sword Slam: Darknut smashes up with his shield, then slashes up with his sword. Think of Ganondorf's Up Smash for knockback and damage.

Down Smash: Double Dark Swipe: The regular Swordman Down-Smash(See: Link, Y. Link, Marth and Roy's Down Smash). However, just like the Dark Swipe this sends the foe perfectly straight foward.

Dash Attack: Dashing Shield: Does a should slam, only using his shield for extra damage.

AIR MOVES:

Nair: Aerial Slice: A simple horizantal slice. Good damage, but low knockback.

Fair: Darknut Slash: Just like Roy and Marth's Fair. Really, this move would work for Darknut.

Bair: Shield Push: Darknut shoves his shield behind him, good damage but low knockback.

Uair: Shield Shove: Darknut shoves his shield up, hitting with the bottom of the shield oddly spikes. However, the spike is weak. In addition, the move has fairly weak knockback anyways. Damage is slightly below average.

Dair: Darknut Stab: Pretty much Link's Dair, only with higher knockback and damage with more start-up lag.

GRABS:

Grab: Grab: Grabs the foe.
Grab attack: Sword Whack: Whacks the foe with his sword. 3% Damage.
Upthrow: Throw Shield: Throws the foe up, then samshes foe with shield.
Downthrow: Throw Stab: Throws the foe into the ground, then stabs with his sword.
Fthrow: Fling 'N' Slice: Flings the foe foward, followed by a strong slice.
Backthrow: Back Toss: Tosses the foe behind him.

Super Smash: Darknut Threes: Summons two more Darknut to help him attack foes.

Taunt(under 100%): Darknut shouts "NOT SHALL PASS!" at the foe.

Taunt(over 100%): Darknut looks at his body, then shouts "'Tis but a flesh wound!"

-------------------------

Well here he is:) if you want the Darknut for brawl then post here and make ideas for what his attacks could be, his final smash etc.. Be creative. I think that he would basically be alot like bowser. He would be a very slow character but have powerful attacks. He would be able to take alot of damage. He could use his shield the same way link does in melee, blocking projectiles and other kinds of attacks like fire and energy blasts. His final smash could be a good sword combo. Maybe he could have a spin attack similar to Link's;) Discuss.

No seriously, after seeing even Samurai Goroh being -just- an Assisst Thropy don't put your hopes up for Darknut. In TP, he's basically a watered down Ganondorf (with armor ofcoarse) so his only changes are to be a full Ganondorf clone who at first has to have his own moves aswell... Since Ganon could easly be Luigified instead.

I liked the battles against the Darknuts in the Zelda games, but he's got no place in the playable roster atleast. Assisst Thropy's ftw.

yes, sadly his chances of being in brawl are very slim but it's still fun to discuss:) Darknuts were made so cool in twilight princess and they are so tough.. i just had to make a topic:p he would be a good assist trophy though.

TP Darknut!? No way! Get the really awesome Darknuts in here!

Doberman Darknuts. That's what it's really all about.

They'd make a fun assist trophy, but I really think Zelda doesn't need that much more rep thank it's already going to be getting.

Ehhhh TP Darknuts were pretty awesome, but the WW ones just really stood out for me. Their top heavy nature and the whole...doberman/etc thing gave them loads of personality.

I see much assist trophey for Darknut in the future.

I wonder what Darknut's moveset would be if he got in, though.

His A's would be crazy sword moves.

But then you hit B and his armor falls off 'cuz he's a chump. :/

nah, that's what would happen to the WW one cause he's so easy to kill in that game. it's more of a challenge in TP.
BUUURN. Yeah, well guess what, I just got my time machine working.

SSBB Manual said:
Twilight Princess - Darknut - Up-B: Darknut tears his own limbs off and chucks them to the Earth to gain upward momentum, claiming later that it's "Only a flesh wound."

I would main Darknut just to constantly hear him say "'Tis but a flesh wound!".

Though I must wonder if the Black Knight from Fire Emblem could pull the line off better.

never heard of this darknut before, but he sounds cool. chances are low since before assists there would be no way he could get in over goroh and now goroh is an assist so that has lowered his chances. maybe an alternate costume for the black knight if e makes it in.

I wish he was a character because I have said this before but he most likely won't be. I agree with you guys, he will be an AT but very powerful...maybe it depends on which Darknut you get, Armor or not. No armor would be swift and weaker, Armored would be sluggish and stronger.

I agree that he's pretty awesome, but I'd much rather see Midna. I mean, the Zelda series has quite a lot representation, so if they should get any more it should be someone major.

yes, it would make more sense if she were in brawl. i'd rather it be her in but i still think Darknut would do very well as a character. i dont think that he's popular enough though.

@Creo- i think that if he were an assist trophy, he should have all of his armor on. he could be slashing his sword around like crazy and at the same time be stomping on the ground which would cause the characters to stumple and get more damage.
