This are a few friendlies I had with a player in AZ known as Light. I've been having trouble beating peach with Fox (which should be expected). Please give me tips to help me better my game, and I should have a few more vids up in not too long. Thanx in advance!

For some reason you seem really, stiff. You'll L-cancel but you wont follow up. You need to be more fluent, and have a better reaction time ( theres ways to train that )

Basically what Ares said. I know it's pretty obvious, but NEVER CC against Peach. You CCd in the first vid and got hit for 59% by one d-smash! That's some game-changing ***t, holmes! Also, maybe try to nair>shine more (it's full of win).

Honestly I am having the same trouble with my friend who Peach mains. That down smash is so brutal against fox you just need to avoid it at all costs. I feel like there were some missed shield grabs on her part because as they said you didn't follow up on a lot of the l-cancels. It's tough because when Peach is at low damage almost any attack you do leaves you vulnerable to a counter. I am curious what combos fox should use vs peach at low damage.

Maybe doing a little bit more mindgames and short hop lasering to build enough damage that she actually moves when you hit her. I don't know though, it seems to me like Peach has the moveset to counter fox so well that I am still scratching my head what to do. Unless my friend makes a mistake I pretty much always lose.

Just read CunningKitsune's guide (it's very detailed). In short, he says space well, don't miss l-cancels (or the JC shine that follows it!), and don't CC.

Yeah, he is good XD

And I was being stiff, I was really nervous. Honestly I normally I play different, but with peach being so, well, ow... It makes it hard to approach. I know not to CC and stuff, I just don't know good edgeguards and stuff. I recently found out a good way to go from 0-death with drillshines > Usmash. But Light is good, so I have to find creative approach.

yeah light looked good but ur stiffness killed ur gameplay

and the best way to kill peach is up, thats obvious, but u were constantly trying to knock her off with b-airs and allowing her to live till like 150 percent or more when fox can easily kill peach at around 80, do some research on JCd u-smashes and u- smashes out of waveshines, so in general more u smashes to kill peach

and ur level picks should be ones w/low ceilings like yoshis story or onett, or personal favorites like final des wich u did really good on.

Here are a couple of big things I saw that you didn't do, shouldn't do, and need to do.

A: You NEED to stop nairing peach so much. All you did was approach her with nairs. She CCs that **** so easily. Your safest entries are uairs or dairs, seeing as CCing either wouldn't do her any good, thats your best bet. CCing the uair would make her fall down. CCing the drill wouldn't do anything because it doesn't knock her away.

B: You DID NOT grab + uair. Come to think it. I didn't see that many grabs at all. Instead of nairing 67% of the time. take 40% of that and put it towards your grab game. Uthrow uair gives you easy damage, is usually a sure hit, and in most cases kills peach at the right percentage. Learn to use and abuse it.

C: As others have stated, you need to finish your drillshine combos. You drill, shine, WD...but then...no usmash? no grab? The waveshine is quintissential in advanced fox play.

In general Vs. Peach: Don't approach her. If you do with nairs, well then you know what'll happen. You'll eat CC dsmash after CC dsmash to no avail. Laser her, and stay on your toes. When you get drills, always lead them into something, because you're not going to get that many combo opportunities on a good Peach.

Moral of the story: Laser and run away, finish your combos, learn to grab ****, and don't run into her and nair.

Hope I helped man.

Camp the peach hard until about 30-40 percent, when it's harder for her to CC, (infact, i'm not even sure she can at this point, i could be wrong).

at this point GO FOR YOUR NAIRS, since now you can probably chain your nairs /bair and get more percent.

of course, drill shine to upsmash/ grab works wonders.

Thanx guys ^.^

I played in my house for like a week after I got embarrassed from watching those vids and figured it out. First thing, she's waveshineable, and in chainlinked drill shines and stuff. So, I can pretty much laser and drill shine to 80% no problem, followed by the shine>wd>Usmash you guys were talking about. That is a good approach because there isn't much peach can do to stop it. Another thing that works is, of course mentioned, throws.

I also noticed my going for vertical kills. Like I said, nervous as hell ^.^ Everyone was new to me, and Light is amazing, so it added up with pressure XD But I'm pretty confident in my peach game now. I just gotta work on my Sheik play now, and I'll have a pretty solid game ^.^

I'll get more vids up to show you guys how I've gotten better! I'm thinking about making a video guide to beating Peach with Fox XD

yeah exactly. once she gets to the % where she cant CC dsmash anymore, your nairs will lead perfectly into usmashes and even grabs.
