I'm glad M2K does what he needs to do to win. He's a welcome addition to the community imo.

I think my Kirby match-up has gotten a lot better since people like him and Revan started entering tournies.

we the 2livecrew
2 4me 2 4u

1: CT Mew2King ($57.00) - ya know, you didn't actually camp the **** out of me. i was very curious why. hoped our second set would have occurred later. ggs though.

2: Fireblaster ($28.00) - good job on driving those mooks and coming out and getting second. we're all gonna go hard working on our kirby matchups now...

3: I'm watching your family ($10.00) - shut up tommy.

4: Cobrevolution - first time in single digits.

5: Megavolt - i was not expecting to see you here. our set might have been my most intense one, of all time. and that ****ing reverse ledge di vs javi omg

5: Weedwack - good job on 5th. stop switching between so many characters in tourney, it throws off your GAME

7: Breakthrough - 17th 13th 9th 7th. haha. had a good set. perhaps you should've indulged beforehand...

9: MGFC|Chain-Ace - dan you should di or something in 64 aha. fun set, you've got a really fun fox to play against. which is ironic for me to say. as always, love that you host these things. so many thanks.

9: Maliki - fun friendlies obv. did you lose to that girl cuz you was tryna get her digits or

this was crazy fun. tommy came through clutch with that recording setup. shame i couldn't commentate though. gonna be fun watching a couple of those vids. also had a few yolo tournies at chris's. i am so ****ing happy i got to see the megavolt dance. life complete.

Yeah I'm glad every tourney I've been to so far I've placed better than the previous. I've been putting in a lot of hard work into becoming a better player and it seems to be paying off. I feel like you would have won even if I had gotten high before out set, but I think I could've at least taken a match off you if I was. For some reason I also didn't feel like I had mentally prepared myself that it was a tournament match, I made so many stupid decisions and paid for it. But your Samus is ****ing top notch, you definitely earned all the wins that you got. Those matches with Megavolt...possible the most evenly matched set I watched all day.

Also, I think your placement is off somewhere because Elliot (the girl kirby player) beat Maliki, and she isn't listed on your placement.

ben i took out people i didn't talk to/didn't know

but yeah gj eliot on beating jake

5jumpdairpwn

stranded upload the ****ing videos

also clubba he's beatable without pikachu, just need moar kirby practiz

so with 19 people this was a good turnout, but with the dropping of madrush and clubba, and the no-showing of eddie, koro, steve and q's refusal to respond to ben...imagine how stacked it would've been jesus

So when are we going to admit that M2K is good at this game? Or are we just going to maintain the status quo and keep denying it?

Its obvious at this point that M2K is actually good at the game.

The fact that he can figure out new game situations so quickly demonstrates that he is not just good, but REALLY GOOD. Remember that for the most part his competition has played the game exponentially more.

it's funny 'cause he's really good, but if you watch him, there's a lot of stuff he could easily improve on.

anyway don't worry you won't have to worry about me anymore because after apex I'm probably moving to seattle so I doubt I'll be at any more 64 events anyway idk

Looks like we will need a poll on who is gonna be the new rage quitter of the community. Please feel free to submit applications and nominations.

Mew2King is good I think that is quite obvious. But he is juggling all three games so he doesn't really improve in 64 he stays the same while other are improving.

Judging by his results, he doesn't exactly need to improve in this game loll

I had never rage quit any smash 64 games, at Smashacre the only games i quit was because i had a TOURNAMENT MATCH in one of the 6 events I was in which I was called for. I only quit out of games for those reasons. I quit out of the melee friendlies the same way because tournament matches take priority.

edit - mixa, please name everything I could improve on. I don't know much at all.

One thing you should improve on is owning people with some other character to make them rage even more and stop deluding themselves into thinking that Kirby is doing all the work.

But if mew2king doesn't improve he won't be able to beat the players that are improving.

Mew2king also improves at a quicker rate because he has a better understanding of Smash theory at its most basic level.

If you watch videos of him, he is actually figuring out match ups on the fly. It is really cool to see actually.

I watched your match vs Stranded (Falcon).

Dream Land camping
Camping is good, but you're doing it from center-ish stage, if Falcon is hanging around the top platform, you'll get Bair'd/Dair'd → Grab.
Unlike in Melee, in 64 when you hold down while in the air, you don't go through platforms (unless after Up-B), you land instead. This makes camping below the side plats really efficient. Most japanese Kirbys do that, here's Sin vs kysk, in which camping is all Kirby did (he lost though).

Movement
Consider pivoting and dash dancing. I'm not sure for long standing still will work.

Kirby's slanted/running c-jump aligns with the side platforms of DL and the ones in Hyrule. This makes Kirby faster and less vulnerable when moving.
Here's a combo that uses this. His Bair bairly connected and he could already Fsmash. That's what you have to do in a tech-chase situation. Here you threw a Nair that lead to nothing. Had you not gone beyond the platform, you could L-cancel and punish the hitstun with grab or Utilt.

Stuff
[collapse=pic]

(1:00)[/collapse]
Be careful when hitting the shield that is near the edge, you'll push him off and he'll punish you. Stranded didn't, but he could've.

It's the same situation when a Falcon upsmashes a shield like this:
[collapse=pic]
[/collapse]
^ what followed was Falcon got Fair'd → Upsmash and died.

Ah, you could also improve a bit on the comboing. It looks like you know what moves to do, I guess you just need to practice more.

But all in all you take very good decisions, great to watch.

if i get an up tilt under the dreamland platform, what is the best way to convert it to a kill if i am not sure when the up tilt will hit them to the platform?
if it's someone with a ****ty recovery like fox/falcon/ness/others, hit them off with a sh nair before you even think they might get on top of the platform

then u can try to stop their jump back/recovery with a bair, fair, wait for them to land and d-tilt, pivot d-tilt, etc.

for chars with good recovery you should try to get them onto the platform and continue the combo/rack up %. weak bair - nair after an utilt is a good way to set up for an edgeguard

**** i shouldn't help make mew2king better

You can try to sideways c jump nair/bair to cover them both landing on the platform and not. If not you hit them, and if they do the lingering hitbox can cover a tech in place + possibly a tech direction
