Competition Rules

Competition format is Double Elimination.

• All sets with the exception of the below are best-of-3.
• Winners Finals, Losers Finals and Grand Finals are best-of-5.

Game Settings

• Mode: STOCK
• Stocks: 5
• Handicap: OFF
• Team Attack: ON
• Stage Select: ON
• Damage: 100%
• Item Switch: NONE
• All Characters Available

Stages

• The Stage List consists of Congo Jungle, Hyrule Castle and Dream Land.
• The first match of a set will always be played on Dreamland.
• Final destination can be played on in a set with gentlemen's rule (FD may be played on if agreed by both players)

Characters

• All characters are legal.
• Black DK (Right-C), Dark Samus (Down-C) and Dark Falcon (Right-C) are discouraged if Congo Jungle is the stage for visibility reasons. The opposing player may reset the match without penalty if they wish for a colour change. Taking or dealing any damage nullifies this right.
  Low Tiers are all characters in B tier and below: Yoshi, Donkey Kong, Jigglypuff, Ness, Luigi, Samus and Link.

Set Procedure

• Players select characters for first match.
• The first match is played on Dreamland.
• The loser of the previous match selects the next match's stage from the Stage List.
• The winner of the previous match selects their character.
• The loser of the previous match selects their character.
• The next match is played.
• Above steps are repeated if necessary.

Texted bloodpeach and offered a ride but by the wording of his post I was under the assumption that he has other plans/is busy with something else, so we'll see. As of right now it will be me + my older bro. Little brother said no because of school and his friend will be working, but I'll see who else I can scrounge up. And if anybody can get a ride to my house thursday/friday we can smash before and get you a ride there+back to my crib, so pm me if anyone is interested.

It's not the housing aspect specifically that I'm worried about. I was supposed to arrive at stranded's place and then I would get a ride to the tournament. And apparently that option disappeared at the same time as Steve not coming, so I'd be doing a lot of driving by myself. Not sure how motivated I am to do that

So how goes it?

I know the top 3 are right, not sure about the other 2. I believe I got 7th, and I think there were 18 entrants. 2-0 vs Weedwack in the first round, then lost 3-4 stocks from accidental pauses alone because of my new DI method to Stranded in a 0-2 . After he sent me to losers he helped me take out my start button (thanks a lot man, I really appreciate it.) I won against some person who worked there in losers (he was a Mario and Ness player, 2-0'd him) and then I lost to Cobr 0-2 to get knocked out.

Great place to have a tourney, however the worst tourney setup I have seen so far. Impossible to move freely, you often had to wait for 2 separate matches to finish just to be able to get by and take a piss. They left us with virtually no room to move around. Really sorry to Fire and whoever he was playing in the friendly when I almost took out the console and their controller by tripping.

Kirby OP. Needed a top level Kirby/Pika to beat m2k's extra campy style.

Watching Stranded vs M2k when M2k has match point on the line, I swear m2k (2 stocks left) camped the left side of hyrule with utilts and sh bairs for about 4 minutes straight (literally not a single hit between either character) until Stranded (on his last stock) accidentally ran into an utilt from that little corner of the left side of hyrule, and got nair'd to death. It was terrible to see, and I'm really strongly against hyrule after seeing that type of playstyle being abused.

Overall a very good tournament, just wish the setup would have been better to allow people to move around without having to wait 5 mins for a match to end. Shout outs to everyone I got to see and play there although I still need to get some games in vs Fireblaster and I never got to play Megavolt unfortunately. gg's.

i had the lead, you say it's terrible to see but why should i lose my lead that i earned. He was not approaching either, but he was losing so he is supposed to have to approach. This is common in melee and brawl too.

anyway don't worry you won't have to worry about me anymore because after apex I'm probably moving to seattle so I doubt I'll be at any more 64 events anyway idk
