Customized Costumes, Accessories, and Such

I was just wondering if the developers of Smash are pondering what I'm pondering. What if there was some sort of kumite mode (like on Tekken 5 and Virtua Fighter 4) where you could fight for prize money to accesorize your favorite Smash fighters? I mean come on, imagine this......

When confirmed, Captain Falcon gets a cape, a headset on his helmet, and you are able to remove his helmet.

Ike gets a different colored sword, ear rings, and a killer tattoo.

Mario has access to his illustrious costumes like the Raccon Suit, his Super Mario Sunshine suit, a referee suit, his SM Strikers suit, etc.

^^Same thing goes with Samus (Light Suit, Phazon Suit, Metroid Fusion suit, etc.)

Pit goes all demonic like with goat horns, black and red wings, and a skull chain around his neck.

Clothing for nude characters? Hmmm.....

Access granted to all of Link's Twilight Princess Tunics, and then some.

By clothing for nude characters he meant clothes for Pikachu, Yoshi, etc.

i say some peoples alternate costumes are completely different characters, sort of like the peach/daisy thing

i could see micaiah being an alt. for zelda
or sothe for sheik
and im sure you've all heard of the sonic/shadow/silver idea
if roy returns an alt. could be eliwood
waluigi for luigi
and the ness/lucas idea
sigurd for marth
there are many possiblities, i especially like the first two i thought of

i like this idea because it gives more characters places in the game, without taking up spots in the 40, but don't get me wrong i'd love to have some of these people as their own characters like micaiah, sothe, and ness and lucas

Krystal with Lara Croft-esque clothing, and able to switch between her Adventures, and Command/Assault clothes. Yep I would like very much, Ridley can switch between his different forms too..

Could you also choose different colors for the accessories and different costumes.. it would be freaking sweet.

Yea for Peach and Daisy its passable since they were basically the same when Melee came out but not any more.

Sonic and Shadow are clones in any case but not with Silver.
Luigi and WaLuigi are nowhere near the same

You run into the fact that the costumes may be good for a few characters but on the whole and whole when you put on that skin and become a new character you would need a new move list, priorities, weight and everything else that makes the character themselves.

Can you imagine a Wario moving like Mario? or Pichu like Pikachu?

I really liked this idea myself but it brings in the fact that different characters are different characters and should be treated as more than skins. When you think about it

i could see this working, the characters don't have to have the same skills and stats, its mostly to include characters who don't deserve a full spot or are very unlikely

Ugh. Why does everyone think that pallete swaps are a good idea? They aren't even that pleasing astheticelly (yes, I know thats spelled wrong...so sue me.) and they're the lazy man's way out. I'm not saying that looks should be sacrificed for gameplay, but I'd be willing to wait a month more if it meant that the characters got some awesome threads.
