Watched the videos, very impressive... i've never thought of using the side attack to skip track...I'll just post custom cars that top max speed racers (like me) use.
Quick Star/Cannon-G4
Maximum star is a Japanese/AR only part, but it's debatable on which one is better. Very hard machine to control; it drifts so easily. However it's amazing at turning, move well in the air. But the real reason this machine is used is for its MTS (momentum turbo/throttle slide). Here's a great example of MTS used at it's near full potential: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1GU3ttQy410&NR=1
Gallant Star/Cannon- G4
This machine wasn't really used much until later in the game's life... like 2-3 years ago. It replaced some of the Fat Shark WRs. Its shift boost ability is great, able to exploit side attacks well, and it doesn't lose as much speed when turning compared to Fat Shark. I love driving this machine. Here's the machine at it's best: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dm_Fw86j0MI
Other good choices: D body rating machines with the same cockpit and booster is still a good choice. I actually used one in one of my records. They still MTS well, SB better than the Quick Star, and they are a tad faster than Quick...-G4. Grip can still be an issue at higher speeds, but it's much more managable compared to E rated body parts. Many C rated body parts are good for those who want grip. The only B body parts I would strongly recommend are the Fire Wolf and the one that looks like Jupiter.
