Cranky Kong should be in!!!

For those of you who aren't aware, Cranky Kong is the greatest character in the history of video games. I know this, because in the Donkey Kong Country games he tells you.

In Cranky's day, he could beat any game with one life, and without having to save once.

I think it's time for Cranky to come out of retirement and show all these whipper snappers what he's made of.

This is what Cranky would look like on the character select screen.

I know that most of the other characters on the selection screen are terrible, but it doesn't really matter because no one would ever need to use anyone other than Cranky anyway if he were in the game.

In short, he's too old. Donkey Kong Country fans know him as a decrepid monkey that hobbles around with a cane and adding a humor factor to the old games. Making him move even close to as fast as everyone else would just not be him. Especially the jumping around.

Cranky Kong would make a good suprise character, because not many people expect him to be in the game. He's also hilarious. I think anyone who grew up during the SNES days would greatly appreciate Cranky as a playable character. He could fight using his cane.

Whahahah Cranky. Yeah sure he would be a great suprise character. I'd like to see him beat the shiit outta Ganondorf with his cane.

You know ... In DKC3 for the GBA he had a karatesuit. Maybe this means he used to do material arts when he was younger. And Cranky being the "Old Skool DK" does has some history in the gaming history. He could also has his barrel throw as in the original Donkey Kong.

Ofcoarse other Donkey Kong characters have much more chance with Diddy Kong being the most likely. But since the creators are looking for a challenge Cranky would deffinatly be a Funny character atleast. :D

That's quite possibly the worst reason against a character being in Smash that I've ever heard in my life. If Terry Funk isn't too old to keep wrestling, Cranky Kong isn't too old to be in a video game. I'm pretty sure Cranky can't break a hip or anything, considering he's a fictional character.

Think about it. You have to draw the line with monkeys fighting in a video game.

If anything, they'd add Diddy Kong. Why on earth would they go as far as adding multiple monkeys in a fighting game? Especially this one? Ridiculous.

Funky Kong is much more liked that Cranky with a bigger Fan Base. As far as Krusha goes, besides King K.Rool and Klump, Krusha is one of the more liked villains, more so than Klump, less than King K.Rool. Krusha was even playable in Donkey Kong 64.

Hell if I know. Just about everyone I know and talk to or seen all say Funky Kong is cool. I have no idea why they say that. But truth is, Cranky Kong is in no way better.

Only time I ever liked Funky is when he took down King K.Rool for good, but everyone else liked him since DKC 1.

Cranky Kong should be an item that randomly brakes out of the barrel and he whacks you with his cane and if you hit him back you loose points for hitting a senior citizen , but as a playable character there are more deserving characters for THIS time round.

Cranky is more popular than Krusha, Funky and Cranky have a tied popularity fan basis Funky would be a better smash candidate though I still don't think he'll be in

Yeah I knew Cranky was more popular than Krusha, I was talking about Krusha in DK villain terms. Although I like your Cranky popping out of a barrel idea, minus the hitting back. If you hit back, he should die (figure of speech) like any Pokemon or whatever.

See I figured he would be uberly rare and would give you a -5 for hitting him but a +100 for just seeing him (decreases by 5 each time he hits you)

i would rather put in dixie or diddy kong before cranky! i agreed that he could be a figure in the game like pokemon, and you will get a type of bonus if you punch him out! he might be rare like mew or celebi!

Let him reappear in a future DK game, sure, and he can hobble around with his cane and sit in his rocking chair to his heart's content, but never would it be a good idea to put him in Smash (unless he's an item like suggested above, which isn't a bad idea).

BTW, Donkey Kong is one of my favorite characters in the SSB Games, and looking at his history, I doubt he will EVER be out of the SSB Series

And now way Donkey K. is gonna be removed from Smash. But this topic was ment for Cranky huh? Well I have an idea for him to be playable there. Just make him sit in his chair and let DK carry him over the battlefield. DK could throw Cranky at his opponents but that would make Cranky alot light (since DK isn't carrying him anymore and old monkeys are pretty light I think) and his moves without DK should involve with his cane.

Hardly anyone I have ever heard of knows who Funky Kong is. Almost everyone who plays games knows who Cranky Kong is. Everyone played the SNES Donkey Kong and pretty much everbody loves Cranky. I think he would be a great addition after Diddy Kong. Diddy is more necessary, but Cranky would be really great and could be pretty unique.

Nah, I personally like Cranky but I don't want to play as him in SSBB. Also, there are many other characters I would rather beat the **** out of.(ganondorf, kirby, pichu)

B - Barrel Toss - This is a homage to how cranky is the original DK. Cranky pulls out a barrel and tosses it foward doing 5% damage.

B > - Oil Slick - Another homage to his arcade roots. Cranky pulls out one of the oil barrel from the bottom of the DK arcade and he empties it. The oil works like the oil patches from Game and Watche's stage and if you are hit by the oil drum which he throws backwards you get 3% damage.

B ^ - Spring Board - Yet another refrence to his maiden grabbing glory. Cranky pulls out a spring board from thhe arcade games and he lunges himself upwards.

B v - Cranky pulls out his shield from the DKC3 port on the GBA and defends himself from projectiles.

Set 2
B - Fuzzy attack - Cranky throws one of those fuzzies he has to defend himself from in the DKC port on the GBA foward which does 5% damage.

B > - Barrel Roll - He has to have a refrence to his arcade days. Cranky rolls a barrel foward and it does 7% damage. The barrel remains in 2d like from the arcade game.

B ^ - Potion Boost - Cranky drinks one of his potions from DK64 which propels him upwards like Diddy's Simian Spring from that game.

B v - The shield from the DKC3 port on the GBA, Reflects projectiles.

His A moves would be cane whacks and his stats would be like this

That would be a awesome moveset for Cranky. Also he should appear in the karate outfit of DKC3 Gba. There are many nice possibilities of moves for Cranky. I personally would like to see some karate chops and kicks here and there, since old people in games are usually good at material arts. And in DK64 in the last fight when you lose Cranky comes up to and shows of some karate moves, although he hurts his back and falls on the floor. XD Cranky's alternate costumes would be his normal clothes, karate outfit, and Karate Kong outfit of Jungle Beat.

BUt Cranky's chances are really really really low.
Because:
1: Donkey Kong is already in there.
2: Diddy should be the new DK character... Too many apes would be strange.
3: Nintendo has rewrote DK's backstory, so DK is also the original arcade Donkey Kong. (Which sucks ****.)

Although Cranky would surely be a very nice character, just only because he'd be very very unique.
