I got the message as well. It said that it was installing the DLC. When I went in game nothing had changed.

Basically the game downloads the update in advance for you and patches it on, but doesn't apply it until the time is right.

OMG THAT LUCINA AND ROBIN PALETTES I WANT THEM. Seriously, why Sakurai didn't put Skins o other colors as DLC, I would love a blue Robin palette.

I'm kind of wondering that too. If it really is gonna be 9:30 when I can get 'em, that's a little late for me to start doing anything with them, so why not wait until tomorrow morning? But then part of me's like "eh **** it play with the DLC into the wee hours of the morning".

If Corrin comes out at that time here in the east coast, then I'll have to wait until tomorrow to download him/her. I leave home for work at that time so I can't do it tonight.
