In brawl there should be a Paper mario stage!

Like The shy guy toybox. Where shyguys come and hit u (directed by general guy)
then u get on the train STILL brawling! :chuckle:

Any comments?

Ghad I love Paper Mario. I just wish there was a way to implement all of it's greatness into a level or two without being too distracting or annoying. (I never did like playing on those crazy moving levels like Mute City) I'm just trying to think of a place that best represents Paper Mario. Possibly the Glitz Battle Arena from Thousand Year Door, the idea of having thousands of characters spectating the match and yelling funny stuff would be really neato I think. Play some good Rawk Hawk and that other beasts music in the background. Got the big battle screen in the background and stuff. Only thing is, people would just call it a Pokemon Stadium rip off, but I still like it.

It's amazing how much Paper Mario can reference older Mario games all it likes and still set itself apart from the rest of the Mario World by itself.

Good call, Yoshimus.

Edit: Oh and one more thing, maybe a Paper Mario themed stage with the audience in the foreground, having all of those angry crowd members throwing rocks and mushrooms into the fight. On top of that, since the battles have always took place on a stage with cardboard cut outs, these things could be moved around and made into the different areas in the series.

 It would be awesome, if they incorporated the 3D dimension used in Super Paper Mario, for the Wii. you think you're standing on a platform then  nope, a pitfall. Anyone who has played the game knows what i'm talking about. This would certainly be an interesting stage.

Hmm..... a Flipside stage would look quite a bit different from stages based on the previous Paper Mario games. Shy Guy's toy box was cool, but I doubt it's going to get enough attention to become a stage. Dry Dry Desert on the other hand, they've already used in another Mario game (ie Double Dash). A dry dry ruins stage would be kind of boring though...

Meh, it's hard to say. We'll just have to wait and see.

something like this would definetly make Brawl intersting, after all Sakurai has been creative with a bunch of stages so a 2.5D stage would definetly be a great addition to Brawl

Alright, this is an awesome idea. Possibly a plain Paper Mario theatric fight stage, and every 30 or so seconds, the cardboard background would be pushed away by Shy Guys (whom were seen to get on the stage in TTYD) and a new one would be brought in. The stages would be based on the more popular places in the series with several different extra platforms for each scenario. In certain scenarios where there was a boss battle, that respective boss could swoop in and make a weak attack or obstacle. That would be awesome.

How about that one area, with Raphael the Raven in Paper Mario 64? It could make you fight on trees, with mini yoshis and mini crows swooping in to attack, then the trees eventually give out, and you fall in a river with floating logs as the platform! Easy, yet not too annoyingly stationary...

I could see it now, annoying things that poison you and screw you over. They are spread over miles and miles of flat sand...

How about the room in Bleck's Castle where you
fight Super Dimentio
, but made smaller? The stage would be pretty basic but the above-ground platforms would be constantly sliding back and forth like they do in the game...making battles maybe more interesting.

I posted this in the create-a-stage lol.

2d version:

The stage starts out 2d. There is one big main platform in the middle, and a little one in the top right. Goombas, turtles, and other koopas come into the level from the right, and some of them appear on the top right platform and drop down to the lower platform. They pretty much just walk by, but if they touch you they can hurt you and if you have high enough percent you can get knocked off the stage.

3d version:

After awhile, the stage turns around into a 3d stage. The big lower platform changes into 2 small ones and the top right platform turns into a bigger top one. In the 3d stage, the koopas still drop off of the top platform, but the ones that came from the right in the 2d part, they now come forward/towards you.

I know its not the best level design but I bet some kind of super paper mario 2d to 3d stage should be made.

Anyway, What do you think?

I don't really like the 2-d/3-d idea, that would just complicate things, but Super Paper Mario is one of my favorite games of all time, so a Brawl stage would be the shiznit. As long as Dimentio shows up, he's such a badass.
