Haters gonna hate. Does it affect you if they use a gamecube controller and adapter?
I just think it's stupid, what is the point? The other controllers are fine, it's like getting an N64 to gamecube adapter, you can do it, but sooner or later you'll realize you're just living in the past. The controllers aren't that much different, people are just obsessed with gamecube controllers.

I just got the GC adapter in case I can't adapt to using the Wii U Gamepad. Cheaper than getting a pro controller too. :p

And yet we can't confirm if SSB for Wii U will actually have Classic Controller support (likely yes, but not confirmed).

Oh no doubt. I am in agreement with you. Its just that I think it would be better to provide positive logical reasons to make the switch rather than just calling it stupid. Negativity doesn't really help things.

This is a logical reason why to go with the adapter. Its cheaper.

However, in the long run you will probably wear your controller out if you are playing the same controller for Melee, Brawl and Sm4sh. Where as the people who purchase a new controller can give their gamecube controller a rest while they smash away on the new title.

I switch from playing Smash 64 on the N64 controller to playing Melee and Brawl with my gamecube and I have no issues at all making the transition. I think given time it will be the same for the next game.

True, but now he doesn't have to worry about loading up the Wii just to Brawl with his gamecube controller. He can now play it on his Wii U. At the very least the adapter helps out in that scenario.

How about you guys TRY playing with the Wii U Pro Controller? Am I the only one here who has experienced the transition from GCC to Classic Controller Pro (CCP)? It's not hard guys, it only took me a few days to get used to the CCP. If a GCC is not possible, you guys need to learn to adapt to the new controller. Also, I doubt the GCC will be compatible with Smash 4 unless the game is programmed with the GCC in mind.

Until you actually try it, AND ACTUALLY TRY TO ADAPT, don't make up bull**** saying Smash 4 is unplayable without GCC. (Well, I haven't seen anyone here say it is unplayable yet, but I HAVE in another thread on another forum. But some of the people here are complaining about how they hate the layout of CCP and Wii U Pro Controller)

I still play Brawl with CCP consistently to this day, and if necessary I WILL adapt to the new controller.

I have good hopes that the pro controller will do fine. I might be wrong there, but I hope not. I like it for Mario, Super Metroid (with the stick, no less), Tekken and every other game I've played it with.

The classic controller is pretty limited for me because of the stick placement.

that said, the Gamecube controller was one of the best designs ever, so of course I want them to make one in that style... to that note, I'd buy a SNES-style classic controller if I could get a decent one cheap enough.

I don't know if you've looked up anything about the GCC adapter, but the system "thinks" the GCC is actually a CCP. So the only way the GCC won't be compatible with the Sm4sh, is if the CCP isn't supported, which means you would be out of luck with your CCP as well.

There's nothing wrong with voicing your opinion about what which controller you enjoy playing with and why people should play with it, but don't hate on people if they choose not to listen.

Well, I haven't but thanks for filling me in on that, but you probably know it'll only work for Smash 4 if CCP is compatible with Smash 4. :/ Which is another thing I doubt...but we'll have to see, I think there is a higher chance of CCP being compatible than GCC.

I don't mind if you guys would rather want to play GCC over the Wii U Pro Controller, but when the time comes and there is no way to play with GCC, you guys will need to adapt to the new controller. Like I've said, I've also seen people say Smash is unplayable without GCC, which is wrong and not to mention biased. When the time comes you guys better not complain about it.

I don't even plan on buying an adapter for the GCC. I have a CCP which is what I will probably use, but the temptation of an 80 hour long battery life for the pro is really strong. I loathe charging my wii remote, or having to carry batteries on hand. I already switch between the 64 controller and GCC from The Original and Melee/Brawl. I have no qualms about changing controllers. =)
