First off, I'm on vacation, so I'm actually posting this from my phone forgive its simplicity.
Anyway, I'm lounging around by a pool, listening to some orchestrated Melee music (does anyone else have that CD?) and I thought of a fun forum game we could play while we wait for Brawl. Now, this game is directed to both Melee and Brawl, so it could go in either forum, but I like the Brawl forums more. =P Now, the game:
Alrught, we're all loving these new Brawl music updates, right? And I know we all love the music in Melee. But I'm sure there are a lot of people who haven't played Fire Emblem, Ice Climber, or even Pokèmon, yet we all enjoy the music from them. This game's purpose is to pick some music from either Brawl or Melee, and find and post the original renditions of it, alongside the new editions of it.
The rules are simple: Pick a song from Melee or Brawl, then go out on the internet and find the original 8-bit/16-bit/etc song from the actual game and post it. Use any resource you can - Youtube, your own collection, vgmusic.com, whatever. Then post a direct link to the original, and state what game it's from, and the title of the song. If you can find the Melee/Brawl rendition of it online, post that as well. If your song submission is part of a medley, include a timestamp of where it is in the medley.
The only other rule, is no one can have more than one submission from the same original game per day. So don't post every song that appears in the Pokèmon medley at once. =P
[Edit] You can also only have up to 5 submissions a day.
I'll continually update this first page with each submission, and the forum member who submitted it. Whoever has the most by the time Brawl is released (or when we run out of music) wins! If we end up listing every song, I will even ship out an actual Nintendo/gaming prize to the winner. By the time we finish the game, we'll have an awesome collection of retro Nintendo songs that appear in Melee and Brawl!
