It was an elitist joke: he normally never posts in threads like this, yet he felt compelled to. 'You'll pay for this' is a joke phrase based on any possible number of things; the incessant fist-waving of a Scooby Doo villain as he is hauled away comes to mind, and will now and forever be what I associate Sucumbio with.

The point of the PG is to allow civil and reasoned discussion behind issues that can be reasonably argued from both sides, not conspiracy theories that have been broken open from one side and only defended by the most steadfast of non-believers. This topic would have been better in the pool room, especially if you only wanted opinions. We have all presented evidence to break apart your positions AS PER DEBATE FORMAT, so don't get all whiny at us, especially when the topic is widely known to be what you could call a crackpot theory.

We've been back to the moon several times since Apollo 11.

Every single conspiracy theory is based on misinformation or just wrong facts. From Kennedy's assassination to 9/11, and for the rest of time, it'll be the same way.

The major reason the moon landing is thought to be faked is that we were in a race with Russia. Russia also went to the moon, and had we actually faked it and there had been no US flag, they would have brought that evidence back and showed the world.

Follow Occam's Razor, and all theories will fail.

Like stated before, why didn't the Russians rat us out? Are they in on it too?

Just to expand on this, the moon landing took place during the Cold War, and had we never landed on the moon, they would have found out through data acquired through data acquire through espionage, and they would have gone public with it and humiliated the American government. Considering the amount of espionage and the commitment to obtaining data on the US that took place in the Cold War, it is highly, highly unlikely if the landing was faked that they would not have found out about it. And clearly they believed the Americans because after this their shift changed dramatically from landing a man on the moon to orbital space stations.

Furthermore, a conspiracy like this would require a tremendous amount of "hush" work by the government; everyone in the government and NASA would have to have the same "fake" story, they would have to make up technicians, scientists, and engineers who worked on the project, and anyone involved would have to stay quiet their entire lives. It seems to me that if a project so large and of such immense importance worldwide was faked, it would be hard for that to be maintained for ten years, let alone until the present.
