So Darth Rancorous is coming over this Friday and we're gonna try and record some console matches. I have a DVR set up so that I can record the game onto a DVD-RW, which seems to work fine. I can play back the DVD-RW to watch the Smash footage on the DVR itself or on my computer with VLC Media Player.
I just need to figure out how to get the footage from the DVD-RW into a usable format on my computer (avi, mpeg, whatever). Right now it shows the disc and the only way to view it is with VLC media player, where the normal DVD menu pops up and you click on the title you want to watch that footage. So how do I get this video into a usable format??
Also, one smaller problem is that when I view the video on VLC it tends to lag/freeze in certain parts. The recording quality is set to SP (you adjust it in the DVR menu, not on the computer), which is the second to highest. Should I make the quality higher or lower to fix this? The lag/freezing doesn't happen when the disc is played back on my DVR.
Thanks for the help.
